Truckee-Tahoe Peace Project The Tahoe Truckee Peace Project is made up of local groups, leaders, and individuals in the Truckee The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.

The Tahoe-Truckee Peace Project is a committee comprised of community members and local organizations interested in creating more peace in our community. Key partners are: For Goodness Sake, Tahoe Safe Alliance, Trails & Vistas, Project Mana, Truckee Family Resource Center, Sierra Senior Services, Lutheran Presbyterian Church, S.W.E.P., KidZone Museum, Arts for the Schools, and InnerRhythms. The I

nternational Day of Peace ("Peace Day"), started by "Peace One Day", provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly. Our focus for Peace Day is celebrating the ideals of peace within ourselves and in our community.
