Today's Senior Spotlight celebrates Jameson "Jamo" Drum, who will be embarking on a gap year filled with new adventures and opportunities.

If you've spent time around Jamo, you've likely experienced his easygoing spirit, sense of humor, and willingness to jump into whatever comes next. Over the years, he's grown into someone who approaches life with curiosity, courage, and an openness to new experiences.

His family describes it best: "Jamo is living his best life and we're just along for the ride."

That spirit has carried him through expeditions, friendships, challenges, and countless memories along the way. And now it's leading him into a gap year designed for even more exploration and growth.

We can't wait to see where the next adventure takes you, Jamo!

Today's Senior Spotlight celebrates Soren, who will be attending to study Forestry.

Throughout his time at TEA, Soren embraced the challenges that come with learning beyond the classroom. Whether in the backcountry, on expedition, or navigating life's inevitable setbacks, he learned that growth doesn't come from avoiding difficulty. It comes from moving through it.

His advice to younger students reflects that perspective:

"TEA gives you opportunities to mold who you are. To be capable, but more importantly, feel capable; to have the confidence in yourself to face life with your head held high."

Congratulations, Soren! Go Griz.

Today's Senior Spotlight celebrates Zeb, who will be taking a gap year before attending .

Many people know Zeb as an elite freeride skier, but those who know him best know there's much more to his story.

Whether standing atop a podium, watching the sunrise from a mountain ridge, casting a fly rod into a quiet river, or documenting the world through a camera lens, Zeb approaches life with equal parts determination, curiosity, and appreciation.

Throughout his time at TEA, Zeb embraced adventure both on and off the mountain. His advice to younger students reflects the mindset that has guided his journey:

“Take advantage of the opportunities that TEA offers. Try new things on expeditions, step outside your comfort zone, advocate for yourself, and make the most of your time.”

We're excited to see where your curiosity, creativity, and sense of adventure take you next, Zeb!

Art invites us to slow down, look closely, and see the world in new ways.

Recently, our 1st Grade Crew visited , where students explored exhibits, engaged with artwork from diverse cultures and perspectives, and experienced firsthand how museums can spark curiosity, creativity, and conversation.

Fieldwork takes many forms.
Sometimes it looks like sleeping under the stars.
Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly in front of a painting and noticing something you've never seen before.

Thank you to for creating meaningful opportunities for young learners!

Today's Senior Spotlight celebrates Pierce, who will be attending 's College of Arts & Sciences.

A member of the TEA community since Pre-K, Pierce has spent the last fourteen years approaching learning the same way he approaches life: with curiosity, intention, and a willingness to go deep.

Whether exploring music theory, engineering concepts, baking, skiing, golf, or planning international adventures, Pierce has always followed his interests with remarkable focus and discipline. He doesn't wait for opportunities to appear. He creates them.
Pierce is the kind of student who asks good questions, pursues ideas beyond what is required, and quietly puts in the work necessary to achieve ambitious goals.

His advice to younger students reflects that mindset:

"Utilize connections with teachers, office hours, and academic flexibility to keep grades high. You have all of the resources you need to succeed here, so take advantage of that."

Congratulations, Pierce!

Our students recently visited for a campus tour and the College of Engineering Expo, where they explored cutting-edge research, interacted with engineering students, and experienced firsthand how science and innovation are shaping the future.

From autonomous vehicles and computer engineering demonstrations to conversations with researchers and university students, the day offered countless opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.

One of the most valuable parts of experiences like these isn't just seeing what's possible. It's asking questions, making connections, and beginning to imagine where curiosity might lead next.

Thank you to and for an inspiring day of exploration and discovery!

Today’s Senior Spotlight celebrates Averi, who will be attending to study Environmental + Interior Design.

Throughout her time at TEA, Averi has brought warmth, creativity, and positivity to every crew she’s been part of. She approaches challenges with determination and heart, while encouraging others to share their ideas, take risks, and explore new possibilities alongside her.

When asked what advice she would give younger students, Averi said, “Take advantage of the opportunities that TEA gives you. Be creative, explore your interests, and don’t be afraid to try something new. Some of the best experiences come from challenging yourself.”

We can’t wait to see the beautiful spaces, ideas, and impact you create in the years ahead, Averi!

Congratulations! 🌺

Our 1st Grade Crew recently spent time camping at Sierra Valley Preserve and Plumas-Eureka State Park, putting TEA's commitment to constructive adversity and character development into action.

Fieldwork at this age isn't about reaching a destination. It's about building confidence, practicing resilience, supporting your crew, and discovering what happens when learning extends beyond four walls.

We're proud of these young adventurers for embracing challenges, caring for one another, and approaching the experience with curiosity and courage.🤎

Today's Senior Spotlight celebrates Hayden, who will be attending to study Law & Justice and Psychology while competing for on the university's Division I equestrian team.

Through TEA’s Individualized Adventure Program, Hayden balanced the demands of elite-level equestrian competition with a rigorous academic experience, proving that students don't have to choose between pursuing their passions and pursuing their education.

Her advice to younger students reflects the mindset that helped her succeed:

“Make the most of every opportunity. If you can connect with the people around you and work hard at everything you do, you will have a fulfilling and successful TEA experience. A lot of doors will open if you stay committed and put in effort.”

We're excited to see all that you'll accomplish in this next chapter, Hayden. 🧡
