Reading for Change exists to be a safe and welcoming, yet challenging environment, where students can improve their literacy and life skills.

Our Motto...

Today a reader, tomorrow a leader. Why choose this as our motto? We know literacy is fundamental for learning and growth. Further, we know many students need specialized literacy tutoring in addition to what they receive in the classroom to optimize their abilities, and exponentially increase the potential for their futures. Our Goals...

-Provide tools and resources
necessary to of

fer a well-rounded, supplemental learning environment
for students in the Troy area.

-Offer a fun, engaging setting
for students to improve
literacy, in addition to
learning appropriate life skills.

-Help students to set goals
and gain confidence
in their literacy skills.

-Be a source of support for the Troy
City School system by gifting
supplemental education to
students struggling with literacy.

-For each year in the program,
each student will achieve at or
above one year of growth
in overall literacy!

Sneak peek at the Reading Reef 🐠📚We are so excited to kick off our Summer Literacy Camp next week! While registration is officially full, we can’t wait to meet all of the amazing campers who have signed up. Get ready for a week full of stories, imagination, and fun!✨

Introducing the Hub, where the community comes together. From events and connection to collaboration and impact, the Hub is designed to bring people closer and create something bigger than ourselves.

That’s a wrap on our 2025-26 RFC school year program. We are beyond grateful to the parents, teachers, and principals, who trusted us with their kiddos this school year. Watching our students grow has been such an incredible blessing.📚✨

This year, we saw growth not only in reading skills, but also in confidence, character, and a genuine love for reading. From every page turned to every story read, we made precious memories together that we will cherish for years to come. We could not be more proud of how hard each and every student worked throughout the school year.

Thank you for being part of the Reading for Change family! We can’t wait to see what next year brings! ❤️

Full circle moments like this are the best ❤️

Rylee was once a student at Reading for Change and now she’s back, volunteering every Tuesday & Thursday and making a huge impact on our kiddos all year long.

Yesterday she taught our students how to sign her favorite book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear 🐻✨

We’re also so proud to share that she’s been accepted into the Early Childhood program at Upper Valley Career Center and is excited to pursue a future working with kids!

So proud of you, Rylee! Your future is bright 💛

We loved having local author Nicole Loy visit us 📚✨

She shared her book, “Saving Sir Stud Muffin” with our kiddos and it was such a special experience! There’s nothing better than connecting our students with real authors and bringing stories to life right in our classroom!
