Hello, Cheddar's Friends!

We have some exciting news!

The Troy Historic Village has created a private Facebook group for all of Cheddar's friends and their grown ups to stay up to date with our family-friendly programming, AND get new ideas on educational activities you can do at home or next time you visit the Village.

You can go to www.facebook.com/groups/thvcrittercorner/ or search for "Critter Corner at Troy Historic Village" on Facebook. It is a private group, so you will have to answer a few simple questions before joining. This is for everyone's privacy and safety. If you have trouble joining, message us at Troy Historic Village.

Since we are moving the Village Critter Corner to a private Facebook Group, we will no longer be active on this Facebook profile. This decision was made to (1) create a safe place for you to share your experience at the Village with us, and (2) make it easier for the Village to share information and content for families with kids. This profile will be officially deleted in March 2025.

Don't worry - Cheddar and Digger will still be at the Village! Come join us in our new Critter Corner at the Troy Historic Village Facebook group!

Hey, Cheddar's Friends!!

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are coming to the Troy Historic Village this weekend and are so excited to see you! Join us for Cocoa & Crafts with Santa on December 7 or December 8, 10am - 2pm!

⛄ Register in advance to receive the discounted rate - Pre-registration closes Friday December 6 at 12pm! Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the day of the event. ⛄

Start your season of family fun and holiday tradition at the Troy Historic Village during Cocoa & Crafts with Santa! You can expect activities like:

🎅 Extra special one-on-one time with Santa & Mrs. Claus,
🖍 Make a holiday themed craft,
🎄 Admire the historic-inspired seasonal decorations,
🎯 Play winter-themed carnival games, and more!

Hey Cheddar’s friends!

Join us Wednesday (December 4th, 10:30am) for Cheddar’s Preschool Story time! Our theme this week is snow!! We’ll read “Froggy Gets Dressed,” by Jonathan London & learn about how to get dressed for winter! We'll also:

❄ Cut out some paper snowflakes,
⛄ Identify different types of winter clothes,
🌬 Play in some winter sensory bins,
🐭 & lots of other fun hands-on activities!

Wear something white or that has anything about snow on it such as snowmen, snow covered trees, or sleds! Our snack will be crackers and orange slices.

Plan to stay a little longer after story time and catch the Troy Public Library BookMobile that will be arriving at noon and pick out a book for the winter season!

We’ll read “Bunny Cakes” by Rosemary Wells, then do lots of fun activities like:

🎃 Making a thankful pie craft out of paper plates,

👩‍🍳 Imaginative play baking,
🐭 & some other fall activities!

Join us tomorrow (September 4, 10:30am) for Cheddar's Preschool Story Hour! Our theme this month is Grow, Gather, Munch!!

We’ll read “Muncha! Muncha! Muncha!” by Candace Fleming,
Play a memory game with fruit and veggie cards,
Look at farming artifacts,
Plant a small plant to take home,
& do other fun harvest activities!

Our snack will be fruit and veggies to munch on with dip.

Wear something green or that has fruit, veggies, or farm tools on it!

Hey, Cheddar's Friends!

Join us at the Village tomorrow morning for this month's Preschool Story Time! We're reading "You See a Circus, I See…" by Mike Downs!

We'll also toss brave stuffed animals through our pretend ring of fire, walk on the circus tight rope, make a fun popcorn bag craft, play with some circus animal puppets, and eat animal cookies with fruit for a snack - and, of course, so much more!

We start at 10:30am!
