Bark Rangers isn’t just a class—it’s an immersive 8-week adventure club designed for dog owners who want to go beyond basic training. Through hands-on workshops, real-world challenges, and skill-building experiences, you and your dog will strengthen your bond, develop practical skills, and earn badges along the way!

Is your dog ready to dive in the water? Our Canine Summer Swim Class will give your furry friend the chance to exercise, socialize, and build confidence in the water!

Why Join Our Swim Classes?

* Expert Instructors: Our experienced trainers specialize in positive reinforcement techniques, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs.
* Socialization: Dogs will have the opportunity to meet and swim with other pups, promoting healthy social skills.

What to Bring:

Requirements:

* Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old and up-to-date on vaccinations
* Pre-registration is required
* Owners must stay on-site during the class and be prepared to be in the pool with their pup. Safe human swimming skills are required.

Each week, we’ll meet at a different dog-friendly hotspot around Central Virginia. Breweries, wineries, restaurant patios with twinkle lights... the kind of places you actually want to hang out.

While you enjoy a drink and something tasty, we’ll help your pup master their patio manners. We’re talking leash skills, polite greetings, ignoring snack crumbs on the ground, and learning how to relax while you sip that glass of red. It’s real-world training with a side of fries (maybe literally).

Each session features a different focused training topic and a laid-back Q&A with our trainer while you enjoy the option to grab food and drinks with the crew. Bring your questions, your family, and your canine bistro buddy.

This very popular GDU Bark Rangers Adventure Outing is back!!

Bark Rangers invites you to join us JUNE 6th at 1:30pm for a group canoe float with Rivanna River Company! Learn to paddle with your dog, bond on the water, and enjoy a riverside snack break. Perfect for water-loving adventurers.

📍 Meeting at Rivanna River Company, Charlottesville
🕝 Time: 1:30 PM for a 5.5 mile float.
💲 $65/person (1 dog included)
Active full session registered GDU Bark Rangers $35 add on charge.
Limited spaces - early registration recommended.

Admission Includes: canoe rental, paddle, life vests, shuttle service from the river and back to the launch area. Dogs should be comfortable around water and other dogs.
