At just 1.5 years old, Swift has all the drive, intelligence, and intensity you’d expect from his Malinois background. He’s affectionate, goofy, incredibly smart, and thrives when he has a job to do. This is a dog who wants a partner, not just a home, someone ready to engage with him, challenge his brain, and build a strong bond together.

Swift is house trained and crate trained, doing best when he has a cozy covered crate where he can settle quietly. He loves being with his people, but he’s already beginning to learn how to settle and self-soothe when his fosters leave with time and consistency. He knows basic cues like sit and name recognition and is eager to keep learning. He’s currently working on leash skills and making progress with a gentle leader.

Swift does well with female dogs and small dogs when properly and slowly introduced. He is not a match for homes with cats. Because of his energy level and working-dog intensity, he’s best suited for an experienced owner and a home with older, dog-savvy kids or adults.

What makes Swift especially unique is his resilience. He came to us with a rear hock injury that went untreated long enough that surgery is no longer an option. While he can absolutely enjoy normal daily life, he won’t be a candidate for high-impact sports. Instead, Swift shines in activities like scent work, training games, swimming, and enrichment. He has already completed multiple nose work classes and absolutely loves it, and swimming has become both a favorite activity and great therapy for his leg.

Swift will need a home committed to structured, low-impact exercise and plenty of mental stimulation. Think long walks, puzzle toys, scent work, frozen Kongs, and continued training. With the right outlet, he is an incredibly rewarding dog who will give you his whole heart.

If you’re looking for a smart, driven, slightly chaotic, deeply loving companion and you’re ready to meet him where he is, Swift just might be your perfect match.

Preference for this dog will be given to adopters who commit to signing up for and completing our six-week Canine 101 training class in person at our headquarters in Troy, VA.

Marabel is the kind of puppy who seems to walk through life completely convinced that everything is going to work out in her favor, and honestly, she’s probably right. This fluffy little chunk is confident, curious, playful, and absolutely adorable from head to toe.

At just 6 weeks old, Marabel is already showing off a big personality. She may be one of the smaller puppies in her litter, but she has no problem keeping up with her bigger siblings and happily holds her own during playtime. She loves tug toys, wrestling with her brothers and sisters, exploring every corner she can reach, and then crashing hard for a cozy nap afterward.

She’s also proven to be a pretty smart little cookie. In true puppy mastermind fashion, Marabel has already figured out how to Houdini her way through puppy gates, so her future family should expect a clever girl who will keep them laughing and on their toes.

Marabel adores people, including kids, and is friendly and affectionate with everyone she meets. She’s happy to snuggle up close after playtime and has that perfect mix of adventurous and cuddly. She’s also doing a great job consistently using a litter box while she’s still too young for full potty training.

With her longer fluffy coat, she may need regular grooming as she grows, but we think that just adds to her charm. Marabel is a happy-go-lucky puppy who will be ready to join her future family on all kinds of adventures, whether that’s hiking trails, couch snuggles, or simply following you around the house to see what you’re doing.

If you’re looking for a confident, loving, fluffy little sidekick with a playful spirit and a whole lot of personality, Marabel may just be your girl.

Preference for this dog will be given to adopters who commit to signing up for and completing our six-week Canine 101 training class in person at our headquarters in Troy, VA. Secondary consideration will be given to a limited number of out-of-area adopters who agree to complete one private lesson with GDU, either in person or virtually, and attend a pre-approved positive reinforcement training class in their area.

Meet Lupine, a young, happy-go-lucky pup with so much love to give. At just 1 year old, this handsome husky/collie mix is ready to make the very most of it with a family of his own.

Lupine is, quite simply, sweet, sweet, sweet. He absolutely adores people and loves being close to his humans, whether that means soaking up affection, snuggling on the couch, or following you around just to be part of whatever you’re doing. He’s friendly with strangers, eager to please, and has that goofy, lovable personality that keeps you smiling.

This playful boy has done wonderfully with the large dogs he’s met and is always happy to make new canine friends. He loves to play, especially if fetch is involved, and would enjoy a home where he can have fun and burn off some of his youthful energy before settling in for cuddles.

Lupine is crate trained and settles beautifully in his crate, staying quiet and relaxed when left alone. He’s mostly potty trained and making great progress, though he may still have the occasional accident as he continues learning.

On leash, Lupine is doing well but is still polishing his manners, especially when he spots other dogs and gets excited to say hello. He already knows sit, come, and name recognition, and with his eager-to-please nature, he should continue to thrive with consistent guidance.

He has shown interest in cats, so a dog-savvy cat may be a possibility with proper introductions.

Lupine is the kind of dog who makes life brighter. He’s affectionate, playful, goofy, and endlessly loving, with so much personality packed into one sweet face. After everything he’s been through, Lupine is more than ready for a forever home where he can be cherished the way he deserves.

Preference for this dog will be given to adopters who commit to signing up for and completing our six-week Canine 101 training class in person at our headquarters in Troy, VA. Aurora, a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, is sweet, affectionate, happy, and wildly clever. The kind of puppy who learns something once and immediately files it into her tiny genius puppy brain for future use. She already knows sit, come, and “go into your crate,” which honestly feels a little overachieving for someone who still occasionally looks surprised by her own feet.

She loves people, has done wonderfully with other dogs, and approaches life with the enthusiasm of a puppy who believes every day is a festival thrown in her honor. She will absolutely keep you on your toes… but she will also happily curl up beside you after the adventure is over.

Aurora is looking for a family ready to continue her training with us, nurture her brilliant mind, and grow alongside this very good girl as she blossoms into the incredible dog she is clearly destined to become.

At Green Dogs Unleashed (GDU), we are dedicated to ensuring the successful placement of our dogs in loving, permanent homes. Over the years, we have seen an increasing number of returns due to behavioral issues that could have been prevented with the right support. A significant percentage of these returns involve out-of-area clients or those who have not completed training with GDU. To address this, positive reinforcement training with Green Dogs Unleashed is required as a condition for all adoptions.

Once upon a time, there was a puppy named Prince Charming... and unlike the fairy tale, this prince is very real and looking for a forever family of his own.

At just 12 weeks old, Prince Charming is a sweet, affectionate little guy with the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and snuggly couch companion. He's curious about the world around him, friendly with everyone he meets, and always ready for his next adventure, whether that's exploring the backyard, chasing a toy, or zooming around the house at top speed.

Prince Charming is deaf, but he doesn't let that slow him down one bit. Like many deaf dogs, he's incredibly observant and quickly learns to pay attention to the people and dogs around him. He's already proving to be a confident, adaptable puppy who approaches life with enthusiasm and joy.

This handsome little prince gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and ages. He shares his foster home with senior dogs and is learning how to respectfully take cues from his older canine friends. Having other dogs around has helped him navigate the world, and he loves joining in on the fun when it's time to play.

Prince Charming is already crate trained and does great when left alone. He's working on house training and is making good progress, usually making it to his designated potty area on the porch. He rides well in the car and is beginning to learn the basics of leash walking with a harness.

Prince Charming loves games of chase and tug, but his favorite thing might just be snuggling with his people. He's a gentle, easygoing puppy who enjoys being part of the action and isn't shy about letting everyone know when his doggy friends are ready to come back inside.

At 12 weeks old, Celeste is an affectionate girl who enjoys life's simple pleasures: playing with her foster siblings, enjoying a good meal, zooming around the house, and curling up in a warm lap for a nap. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people or exploring new situations, it doesn't take long for her true personality to shine through. Once she feels comfortable, she's friendly, playful, and eager to be part of the fun.

Celeste gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves having canine companions to play with. She's an easygoing puppy who balances playtime and relaxation beautifully. One minute she's chasing her friends around the yard, and the next she's happily snoozing beside her favorite person.

This sweet girl is highly food motivated, which should make training both fun and rewarding. She's already doing well with crate training and actually enjoys spending time in her crate. She's also making steady progress with house training and is learning to use her designated potty area.

Celeste rides well in the car, is beginning to learn leash skills with a harness, and handles time alone without difficulty. Like any young puppy, she's still learning the basics, but she's approaching life with curiosity, confidence, and plenty of puppy enthusiasm.

If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts playful companion and professional cuddle buddy, Celeste may be the perfect addition to your family.

Adoption PENDING!!!

Her milkshake brings all the dogs to the yard... and honestly, they seem pretty happy about it.

Meet Amazement, better known as Milkshake, a creamy swirl of cuddles, comedy, athletic potential, and an unwavering belief that every aspect of your life would be improved by her involvement.

Milkshake is the kind of dog who forms strong bonds with her people. Not in a clingy, anxious way, but in a "What's the plan and why wasn't I included?" sort of way. She doesn't struggle with being alone. She just genuinely believes that laundry, gardening, working from home, and even scrolling on your phone would all be better as team activities.

This sweet girl is fantastic with other dogs and has excellent social skills. She reads canine communication well, respects boundaries, and enjoys making new friends. She's also been completely respectful of the resident cat, despite the cat's apparent belief that it runs the entire household.

Milkshake is about 90% house trained and learning all the important puppy life skills. She's becoming more independent with toys, enjoys digging through the toy box for hidden treasures, and has mastered the daily transformation from energetic puppy to expert couch snuggler.

She's also been introduced to some sport foundations and is showing a lot of promise as a future disc dog or casual sports companion. Smart, eager, athletic, and highly engaged with her people, Milkshake is the kind of dog who makes training feel less like work and more like a game. Whether your goal is weekend adventures, dog sports, hiking trails, or simply teaching fun tricks, she's ready to jump in with enthusiasm.

At the end of the day, though, her favorite place is right beside her people, soaking up affection and enjoying some well-earned downtime after a day full of fun.

Preference for this dog will be given to adopters who commit to signing up for and completing our six-week Canine 101 training class in person at our headquarters in Troy, VA.
