This is what makes Piqua a great small-town community. Proverbs 3:27 instructs us "do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act".

Today, Piqua Rotary #135, which is part of Rotary District 6670, was privileged to take a turn, and step up to "create lasting impact". When we place service above self, it is a humbling experience because it reminds us we are not the center of the universe and such acts create personal growth and gratitude.

Last month, the Piqua Rotary Club donated $500 to the Salvation Army of Piqua for their weekend take home meal items they provide for children, as part of their Summer Lunch Program.

The Salvation Army is accepting donations of non-perishable items such as canned soups, canned pasta, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, and other simple meal solutions.

The Summer Lunch Program is a mobile feeding programs for children ages 0-18 and pregnant women, with 10 stops in Piqua. The program runs June 1 an August 28.

Three of our Piqua Rotary Club members were excited to help the Salvation Army on their 1st day of the summer lunch program last Monday, June 1st!

189 meals were served!

Their mobile canteen that takes a hot lunches to 10 spots in Piqua for children on Monday - Friday throughout the summer. It’s free for children 0-18 and pregnant women.
