I was so honored to be able to help a family who is in desperate need of our help! It's been awhile but I am happy to announce that we have been able to help another CHD family!!! :) Although our funds are low, I would of loved to been able to help more but we will do what we can & if anyone is able to help any further, PLEASE DO!!! The family that we are currently helping is the Mcnally family, they are from Tennessee and travel hours to the hospital for all little Gracie's cardiologist visits & GI visits... THIS IS ALL TOO FAMILIAR TO ME!! Therefore, this family took my heart & I am hoping it will take the heart of our supporters to keep donating even though we are not having a fundraiser at this time. Please read about little Gracie....
Gracie is 3 years old, the age Dominick was when he has his life saving surgery, she has been diagnosed with unbalanced AV Canal defect, ASD,VSD,Pulmonary stenosis. She also has a melody valve and is pace maker dependent. Besides the financial help that I am able to give to these families, I hope & pray that I am able to help them through research & finding that miracle surgeon like I found for our Dom!! However, the biggest need right now is financial!!! Here are the words from Gracie's mom: we have had 7 hospital stays, the longest one was almost 3 months. Our hospital is 4 hrs from our home. She was listed for heart transplant may 9th but just got removed Oct 31,2013. Her heart is improving. I have not been able to work do to taking care of Gracie we live on her ssi check of 720.00 a month. She came home from the hospital on a feeding pump and 30 meds which had to be given every 2 hrs. she is currently down to 9 meds. her meds are covered now from her insurance the ones that weren't covered before where her pain meds but she has been weaned off those now. She has to still go to her hospital in nashville every 6 months for FDA check up- her melody valve we had to petition the fda to use because Gracie did not fit the criteria- so we got to use it under special allowance it was her only chance of life. we spend about 50.00 every 3 months to travel to the cardiologist which is 1 hr from our home. her Gi dr is also 1 hr from our home and then we spend about 120.00 every 6 months to go to vanderbilt_hospital.__
As I read this story, I am brought right back to the earlier years for OUR Dom's fight, I was blessed to have such wonderful family, friends & supporters, because we would not have been able to make it without you all!! This is the whole reason that I started this Foundation, I knew that we had AMAZING supporters!!! Please do what you can to help this very deserving family!! Will post a pic of little Gracie soon!!
