Tonight the Kiwanis Club of Troy Scholarship was presented to an outstanding Key Club member, Mackenzie Gifford.
Mackenzie has demonstrated a genuine commitment to service throughout her high school career. From volunteering with the Optimist Flag Program and supporting community events, to assisting at swim clinics and contributing to local food and blood drives, she has consistently shown up for her community in meaningful ways.
What stands out most is not just the number of hours she’s given, but the mindset behind them. Mackenzie understands that small, consistent acts of service can create real impact of bringing people together and strengthening community pride. Her experiences have shaped her into a dependable leader who values teamwork, responsibility, and giving back.
As she continues her education at the University of Mount Union, studying Exercise Science, she plans to carry that same spirit of service forward, especially through promoting health and wellness in others.
Mackenzie truly represents the values of Key Club and Kiwanis: service, leadership, and community.
