🎉 Celebrating 36 Years of Service to the City of Troy! 🎉
After an incredible 36 years of dedicated service to the Troy community, we celebrate the retirement of Parks and Recreation Director Dan Smith!
On Monday, October 5, more than 300 friends, colleagues, community members, and loved ones gathered to honor Dan and celebrate the tremendous impact he has made on our community throughout his career. His leadership, dedication, and passion for parks and recreation have helped create memories, opportunities, and spaces that will benefit generations of Troy residents.
In recognition of his extraordinary service and lasting legacy, Mayor Reeves and the Troy City Council officially named the Troy Parks and Recreation Center the Daniel “Dan” Keith Smith Recreation Center. What a fitting tribute to a man who has devoted so much of his life to making Troy a better place to live, work, and play.
Dan, thank you for 36 years of leadership, friendship, dedication, and service to the City of Troy. Your legacy will live on—not only in the name of the recreation center, but in the countless lives you have touched and the community you helped build.
👏 Congratulations on your retirement, Dan! We wish you all the best in this exciting new chapter. You’ve certainly earned it!
