It’s more than hot dogs on the grill, or the Monday off.
Today we gathered together, to honor all our fallen service members and their families.

The Wishers, Captain Henkel, and others putting in the effort again for another Lansingburgh Memorial Day Parade.

Also, Some questions came in regarding our “Engine 2”. This was operating as Engine 1 in today’s parade and filling in temporarily at the Lansingburgh firehouse.
The 2003 American Lafrance Eagle is now a reserve, replaced by the new Sutphen Pumper housed at Station 2 lettered as Engine 2. 1500gpm/750gal.

Firefighter Robert T. Kilduff Jr., 53 - Rescue 2
Boston Fire Department. Boston, MA
Firefighter Kilduff was killed while battling a three-alarm fire in Dorchester at a home on Treadway Road. Firefighters responded to a call reporting a fire around 8 p.m. and encountered heavy flames on all three floors extending into the attic. During efforts to extinguish the fire, Firefighter Kilduff fell from a third floor rear porch and sustained critical injuries. Despite the best efforts of firefighters, EMS personnel, and crews on scene, he succumbed to his injuries. Firefighter Kilduff, a 24-year veteran of the department, and U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He was also a third generation firefighter, his grandfather Vincent Kilduff died in a LODD in 1947 and his father died from occupational cancer in 2008.

Members of Local 86 were honored today prior to a council meeting, for their efforts at a recent fire.
