Oakwood Community Center, Inc offers space for meetings, rents space for classes, workshops, family parties and small churches.

We host a Saturday morning Food Pantry from 9 to 11 AM and the Soul Cafe, a monthly pay-what-you-can dinner, most 3rd Mondays.

Call for volunteers today (Wed 5/20) from 3:30 to 6:30PM!! Oakwood Techniques students have been hard at work on their original play, A FOREST THROUGH THE TREES, and they need your help painting sets and sewing costumes! All skill levels welcome. Bring a sewing machine if you have one!

Monday 5/18 6PM: Soul Cafe
Our monthly pay-what-you-can community meal! It'll be a special one this month, hosted by the Under Commons Sade Collective, a group new to the Capital Region as they look to connect with our community and look for opportunities for collaboration. Please come out and connect! And eat pasta!

Tuesday 5/19 6PM: Artesanar
Experience a free workshop led by Azuré Keahi and YiYi Mendoza. Artesanar is YiYi's way of describing healing through traditional crafting.

Wednesday 5/20 5PM: Set Building with Oakwood Techniques
As our Oakwood Techniques students get ready for their original production, "A Forest Through the Trees" (which will be performed on May 28th), they need some help with set design. Come paint, hammer or sew! All skill levels welcome.

This Tuesday 5pm at Oakwood, join us for Putting Out the Welcome Mat with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company! Free admission and fun for all ages!

Here’s what’s coming up at Oakwood this spring! ☀️

Tues. 5/12 5PM - PUTTING OUT THE WELCOME MAT, a free dance performance marking the 35th anniversary of the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company using a mobile dance floor made of interlocking squares.

Mon 5/18 & Mon 6/15 6PM - SOUL CAFE, a pay-what-you-can community dinner at Oakwood held on the third Monday of each month! All are welcome!

Tues. 5/19 6PM - ARTESANAR, a free bilingual workshop series exploring cultural crafts that tell a story. We gather to honor the sacredness of collective creation using our hands to heal and bring hope back into our bodies.

Sat. 6/27 2PM - OAKPOP, an outdoor music festival featuring bands from Oakwood’s own Swordpaw Studio! Stay tuned for more ticketing info.
