The Arc of Rensselaer County The Arc of Rensselaer County is a non-profit agency supporting individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Rensselaer County since 1950.

A chapter of the Arc New York The Arc of Rensselaer County and its members are dedicated to building the capacity and realizing the full citizenship to those with developmental & intellectual disabilities by providing invaluable resources and support. The Arc currently serves nearly 800 individuals and their families and is one of the largest employers in Rensselaer County with more than 500 individuals serving in a variety of positions.

DID YOU KNOW? 🕯️☕

We have a group that loves to make and sell candles! And they especially LOVE making a good bulk order.

They’re called W.O.W. Candles because they’re part of our Without Walls Dayhab program… but honestly, WOW, they’re pretty dang good at this.

They make candles that are perfect for events, gifts, favors, and basically any situation where you think, “You know what would make this better? A candle.”

Right now, they’re busy making candles for the appreciation gifts at our annual Community Partners Breakfast. And this year’s scent? LATTE......Because apparently, we have some scent geniuses on our hands!

They also take smaller custom orders! And the best part? The WOW Candle program helps fund special activities and hobbies for the people in our W.O.W. program. You get great smelling candles, and they get more opportunities to get out and try new things! Everybody wins!

While the Arc Dudes were enjoying lunch thanks to Duke’s Comida we debriefed with them to see how they felt after getting their fresh looks. Safe to say, they we’re feeling as good as they looked 😉

Our Arc Dudes saw the girls’ Glam Day and said, “HEY, where’s OUR day?” 😂

So they asked for a Dudes Day, and our staff rallied to make it happen! Our guys got fresh cuts, new shirts and ties, and even manicures. Safe to say, they cleaned up NICE!

Huge thanks to The Hive Hair & Co. and Lulu Nothing Less Than Wonderful for volunteering their time and giving our guys some fresh new cuts!

And Duke’s Comida for giving the guys a great lunch!

Maddy and Lauren took a trip to the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory and got to spend some time hanging out with the butterflies. The blue butterflies were definitely the favorites and seemed pretty determined to come say hello. 💙

They also checked out the Fairy Gardens while they were there!

Looks like the blue butterflies knew exactly who they wanted to hang out with. 😂🦋
