This past Saturday was another beautiful opportunity for us to show up for the community we love and serve every other Saturday. We are always grateful for the chance to share a meal, connect with our neighbors, and remind one another that we are never alone.

But this Saturday, something special stood out. As we prepared the space for lunch, the very people who came to enjoy a meal with us jumped in to help set up! 🥹❤️ That moment reminded us of what we are building at Refuge Place Inc. It’s not just about serving food; it’s about building a community where everyone belongs, everyone matters, and everyone can lend a hand.

It takes a lot of hands, time, resources, and love to make these meals happen. Knowing that our community appreciates what we do and is willing to step in and help means more than words can express. We are truly blessed to give, and equally blessed by every donation, every volunteer, and every act of kindness that keeps us going. 🙏🏽

As we are preparing for our Coat Blue Winter Coat Distribution, and we need your help to make it happen!

We’re seeking support to provide warm coats, gloves, socks, hats, scarves, and other winter essentials to families and individuals in our community who need them.

Last year, because of YOU, we were able to help so many families stay warm. We’re hoping to do it again this year, but we can’t do it alone.

Just a friendly reminder that we’ll be serving community Lunch this Saturday at 12 PM! We are still under the Hoosick St. Bridge

Bring the kids, bring the family, and come hang out with us while we can still enjoy being outdoors. ☀️ We’ll have a nourishing meal, good company, and hopefully lots of smiles and good time.

🪽In Loving Memory of Paula Churco Hoffay 🪽

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a very special member of our Refuge Place Inc. family, Mrs Paula Hoffay, who passed away on October 1st.

Mrs. Paula Hoffay was there from the very beginning, from the very first community meal Refuge Place served. She didn’t just volunteer; she gave her heart. She showed up with love, encouragement, kindness, and a willingness to help in every way she could. She was a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and truly a mother to so many of us at Refuge Place.

Her presence brought warmth wherever she went. Her dedication and compassion inspired us, and the memories we made together will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We will miss her deeply, but we are grateful for every meal served, every conversation shared, every laugh, every helping hand, and every moment we had with her. She was more than a volunteer, she was family.

Our hearts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time. May God comfort them, strengthen them, and give them peace.

Rest peacefully, Grandma. We love you, we will miss you, and we will carry your memory with us always. May you finally rest in the arms of the Lord. 🕊️❤️

❄️ Winter is coming, and not every child or family has a warm coat to get through it. 🧥

Refuge Place Inc. is raising funds for our Winter Coat Drive to provide children and families in need with a winter coat, gloves, hat, and socks, with dignity, kindness, and no judgment.

Your donation will help us purchase these items in bulk through B. Lodge & Company, allowing us to stretch every dollar and reach more families. We will also accept and pick up clean and new winter items.

Every dollar counts. Every coat matters. Every child deserves to be warm. We have attached a QR Code for easy donation for this cause.

Please donate, share, and help us reach our goal! Together, we can make sure our neighbors don’t have to face the cold without proper protection. ❄️🧤

🌧️ Rain or shine, we still showed up!

Today was one of those days that reminded us how special community really is. Even with the rain, people came out, volunteers showed up, everyone lends a helping hand and we were blessed with so much support.

A huge thank you to The Extended Family’s, Director Julissa Nazario, for stopping by today and bringing meal bags, hand-decorated toiletry bags, snacks, and drinks. The thought and generosity behind these donations truly meant a lot and will help the people we serve. ❤️

We also want to say a big thank you to Capital Roots Caitlyn Flood with the Squash Hunger Program for partnering with us and helping make today possible. The produce donations were such a blessing towards the grocery bags we handed out today.

And thank you to Price Chopper Supermarkets for their continued support. Every bit of support helps us keep doing what we do.

Most of all, thank you to our volunteers and everyone who came out today. We may not always have everything, but we do our best to make sure no one leaves without feeling cared for and supported. ❤️
