Our last activity was a Clean up on Sunday, October 12th at 9am. We cleaned and prepped the flower bed right outside the visitors center. We also kept all the seeds from the native flowers and put a in containers for park staff to hand out to the visitors. We all had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful morning as we helped out our community. Thanks to Cuivre River State Park for allowing us to help out and Bricklayer Bakery for providing containers for the seeds. 💚

We sure had a great time in September making Garden Wands for our plants. Our instructor was fabulous and if you like these you can find them at Bubbly Ducky in Troy, Missouri at 305 Main Street.

Troy Garden Club End of Summer Report.🌞
This summer was a challenge between lots of rain or the heat. We had a summer meeting at the home of Prudence Taylor out on the Patio with a very informative program on Pesticides given by Kathy Vaughn. Really appreciated some new information but best practice always is natural remedies especially for pollinators and birds. We are loosing them too fast. Please don’t buy Round Up or chemical sprays. Thanks Kathy Vaughn.
The next meeting we we’re off to the State Park at 4pm. We learned about prescribed burns. Thank you to Leslie Gottemeir for givingis such an informative program. We have such a beautiful Missouri State Park right here in Lincoln County Missouri . If you haven’t been there make time and go enjoy the Beauty of Nature! Stop in and check out the Visitor Center. 💚

Troy Garden Club selected July’s Yard of the Month which was the home of April Cannon. Deb Colbert and Prudence Taylor had the honor of meeting April and her daughter Mollie and presenting them with a butterfly perennial for their yard. April is the Gardner and makes her own hanging baskets and designs her landscape around her yard. The yard was delightful and pleasing to the eye. Congratulations and thank you for focusing on Butterflies and Pollinators…helping our environment.

Troy Garden Club selected June’s Yard of the Month which was the home of Lori and Steve Jenkins.
Deb Colbert and Sue Williams had the honor of presenting Lori and Steve a hanging basket.
Lori has beautiful flower beds, hanging baskets and containers all around her home.
