We have FOUR SPOTS still available for our short-term trip to Nepal this November!

A co-ed team is heading to Nepal to partner with local communities in supporting youth at risk of trafficking.

They’ll help lead leadership and life-skills programs, encourage education, and build ongoing relationships with girls in the NoChild sponsorship program—working to prevent trafficking before it starts. This team will also provide updates on sponsored daughters for their sponsors.

Men and women serve together to model healthy, safe, and encouraging relationships within the community.

The team will also visit our partner staff, a border station, and a training center. Sponsors may also have the opportunity to meet their sponsored children in Nepal (pending conditions).

A Powerful Update from Teresa, the POM Women Empowerment Coordinator:

Because of your generosity, 10 girls in West Pokot County, Kenya, are back in school and pursuing their future.

Through the Women Empowerment Pilot Program with Pokot Outreach Ministries, girls facing financial hardship and the risk of early marriage received school fees, boarding supplies, and the support needed to return to Grade 10. Three girls were even rescued from early marriages and reintegrated into school.

Today, all 10 girls are safely in school, focused on their education, and filled with hope for what’s ahead.

Thank you for helping change lives, challenge harmful practices, and empower the next generation of young women.

Karen Hanks wrote a beautiful story of her experience from our recent NoChild Brazil trip...

After hanging up my dance shoes over 35 years ago, I never imagined I would one day find myself in Brazil, teaching ballet to a group of little girls whose joy and resilience left a lasting impact on me. Ballet is so much more than movement; it is a space for fun, creativity, and self-expression, while also instilling discipline and focus. What struck me most was the beautiful bond between the girls and their teachers. The way the girls looked up to them with trust, admiration, and hope was matched only by the deep love and intentional care the teachers poured into each child’s life. It was clear the teachers weren’t just teaching steps. They were nurturing hearts and shaping futures. It was an awesome thing to be a part of.

The love and dedication these teachers showed clearly embodied the mission of our global partner, the Aquarela Project. In a community where many children are surrounded by negative influences, this program shines a light of hope. Through opportunities like ballet, jujutsu, robotics, and more, the Project expands the children’s horizons and opens doors they may have never imagined. Most importantly, it introduces them to the love of Jesus and the promise of a better life with Him. There are still so many children waiting to be sponsored, and choosing to sponsor a child is a powerful way to invest in their future, offering opportunity, love, and hope.

We’re celebrating something new and exciting from Pokot Outreach Ministries (POM) in Kenya!

Last month, 26 of our NoChild university students and 6 POM staff gathered for the very first annual student event—and it was a powerful time of connection, growth, and encouragement. Reuben, POM’s Director, shared vision and direction, while staff poured into students through conversations on life skills, responsibility, and gratitude for sponsorship. One of the most impactful moments came from guest speaker Winnie Cheptoo—a former POM student and now a psychologist—who challenged students to give back to their communities and step confidently into their role as leaders and representatives of the program. Students also shared their personal testimonies and academic journeys, making the day even more meaningful. Many said they left feeling encouraged and are already looking forward to the next gathering!

POM is continuing this support by launching virtual check-ins each semester to care for students’ well-being and academic progress. We are so grateful for this intentional investment in our students’ futures. Well done, POM!

To the mothers in our sponsorship community — Happy Mother’s Day!

Today we celebrate and honor the incredible women who have chosen to love, guide, encourage, and show the love of Jesus to the children they sponsor across Kenya, Brazil, Nepal, and India.

Your compassion reaches far beyond borders. Through your prayers, letters, encouragement, and faithful support, you are reminding children that they are seen, valued, deeply loved, and never alone.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, your kindness, and your hearts with the next generation. The impact of a mother’s love is powerful — and your love is helping change lives around the world.

Off to Kenya we go!

On Monday, May 11, a NoChild/Hope Water team will depart for Kenya. They will visit the POM staff, spend time loving and encouraging the primary children at all three children’s homes, and explore the Hope Water projects in the surrounding communities. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel. Pray that every child feels seen and loved, and that Jesus is evident in all they do throughout their journey. Here is their prayer calendar so you can follow along and pray each day.

Jill Wellbaum recently joined our NoChild team in Brazil. Here’s what she shared about her experience…

Meeting the girl I sponsor in Brazil through No Child was such a gift! She is beautiful inside and out—smart, kind, and such a hard worker—and I left our time together feeling deeply grateful for the chance to encourage and learn from her.

It was also an honor to spend time with the team at Project Aquarela. We interviewed children, helped with classes, and helped host a holiday party—and I was moved by the genuine love and excellence they bring every day. Through mentoring, skill-building, and a safe environment rooted in Jesus’ love, kids are known, valued, and encouraged to grow.

This trip also reminded me how great the need still is—more children are waiting for a sponsor. If you want to make a difference in the life of a child, I invite you to join us. You can learn more at nochild.org. Your support can help provide consistent care, encouragement, and opportunity through Project Aquarela and other No Child partners.

Meet Kemika...

In the heart of Nepal, Kemika Ghimire is helping daughters rewrite their stories with courage, dignity, and hope. As Program Director of CHELI Nepal (one of our NoChild partners), she brings both strong leadership and a deeply compassionate heart—walking alongside each girl as she discovers her worth, her voice, and her future.

Kemika’s passion is rooted in something powerful: a commitment to preventing trafficking and gender-based violence while creating safe spaces where daughters can heal, grow, and dream again. And that’s exactly what she’s seeing—girls rising with confidence, resilience, and bold new dreams for their lives.

Her vision for the next 5–10 years? It’s big and beautiful:

1. Daughters becoming confident, compassionate leaders
2. Women who are economically independent and socially empowered
3. Lives grounded in strong values and impacting their communities for good

And when she’s not leading and loving so well? You’ll find her gardening, getting lost in a good book, spending time with family, or enjoying her favorite Nepali Thali.

When we asked her how we could pray for her, she humbly said: for wisdom, strength, and discernment as she guides these incredible daughters forward. Kemika is the kind of leader who doesn’t just change programs—she changes lives.

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved James Lotop suddenly passed away last week. His funeral will be held today.

James was an integral part of the POM staff in Kenya, faithfully leading the Kodich choir to national competitions—winning year after year. He loved the children deeply, and that love was evident in everything he did. We had just spent three weeks with James as he traveled with our NoChild team, helping to connect with and encourage our high school and university students. The relationships he built with them were unmistakable.

Words cannot fully express how much he will be missed. He was a dear friend. His smile, his integrity, his deep love for children, his devotion to his family, and his faithfulness to Jesus leave a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.

James is survived by his wife, Salome, and their sweet children. Please keep his family, the POM staff, and all who loved him in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. We take comfort in knowing he is with Jesus—perhaps even leading the choir in heaven.
