Uwharrie Volunteer Firefighter Brandon Saunders was in a single-vehicle car accident while responding to a fire call on May 27, 2024. Brandon has 4 breaks in his lower back, 3 major breaks on the left side of his pelvis, and his femur, fibula, tibia, and ankle are broken as well. He is currently admitted to Duke Hospital awaiting multiple surgeries. Brandon has a long road to recovery and currently, the length of his hospital stay and the number of required surgeries is unknown.
Our mission is to help and support our Montgomery County first responder heroes in their time of need. The Montgomery County Heroes Tribute will be making an immediate donation to Firefighter Saunders' family to help with the financial burden of travel and things needed during his hospitalization.
