Today, was a big day for the DC Freedom Rock®️! The placement on its home foundation was more than just a milestone—it was a reminder of what happens when a community comes together for something bigger than ourselves.

This rock represents freedom, sacrifice, patriotism, and courage! It also represents the people of Doniphan County, their military stories and those who believe in the importance of continuing to honor our veterans. May we keep their stories alive, teach the next generation about their sacrifices, and never take for granted the freedoms they fight and have fought to protect.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Drew Whetstine, Wilkerson Crane, Mitch Clary, Micheal Brissett, Jim Horner, Morgan Hinds, Matt McKittrick, Kase Keller, Perry Higdon, and Jesse Peden! This crew went above and beyond to make today a success!

We are so excited to announce the next steps in bringing the Doniphan County Freedom Rock® to life!

🚛 MONDAY, AUGUST 31
Drew Whetstine with WhetRock will be delivering our massive granite Freedom Rock®️from his quarry in Nebraska!

🏗️ TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 • AROUND 1:00 PM
Wilkerson Crane will place the rock on its prepared foundation right here in Doniphan County!

🎨 SEPTEMBER 21–30, 2026
Then comes the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Artist Bubba Sorensen will begin painting our Doniphan County Freedom Rock® and turning this incredible piece of granite into a lasting tribute to our veterans, our freedom, and the sacrifices that made it possible.

This is more than just a rock. 🇺🇸
It represents community, patriotism, remembrance, and gratitude.

We are incredibly thankful to everyone who has donated, volunteered, encouraged, shared our posts, and believed in this project. Our community is making this happen!

We’re getting closer every day, and we can’t wait to watch this become a reality right before our eyes.

The Airbnb is newly renovated, close, and convenient—just minutes from the Doniphan County Freedom Rock®!

A huge THANK YOU to Micheal & Jenna Brissett, hosts of the Airbnb, for opening their doors to Bubba. Working hard to get it renovated and ready for him in time for his arrival! And assuring the amenities are available to make Bubba and all future guests feel right at home while in town!

Land Preparation: Complete✔️
Mitch Clary, (Mitch’s Land Management) was busy at work early this morning preparing the ground that will soon be home to our 13-ton Granite Freedom Rock®️! Mitch has been all in on this project bringing his expertise to assure this rock is secured on a firm foundation. We are so thankful of the initiative he has taken, the time planning, and his full support seeing that this project is successful! Thank you Mitch!
