Thank you to all of our Inn members who joined us yesterday evening at Detroit Yacht Club to celebrate the end of our 2023-24 year!

A job well done to the 2023-24 Executive Committee for all of your hard work this past year, along with all of the pupillage teams.

And a huge thank you to John Rondini for his leadership this past year as President and over the years in many different roles on the Executive Committee.

Thank you to our IOC member, Dustin Zak, for being one of Santa’s helpers today! Dustin loaded up his truck full of STEM toys and delivered to The Salvation Army of Pontiac Michigan after our hour happy hour and toy drive held earlier this week.

This evening, our Michigan IP Inn of Court, Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), and Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) came together to celebrate the holidays with a happy hour at Fillmore 13 Brewery and a STEM toy drive for The Salvation Army of Pontiac Michigan! This evening we hosted our first Oral Advocacy Challenge after partnering with the Linn Inn of Court to prepare the program.

Our advocates argued on claim construction and substantial sales activity in/out of the United States.

Thank you to Eastern District Judges Lawson, Berg, and Michelson for overseeing our mock program.

Thank you to all of the members who took an active role as part of the pupillage team. Especially to Jim Cleland who prepared an excellent fact pattern and lead overall strategy; Mark St. Amour and Tim Murphy for coaching; Jeremiah Foley, Nicholas Busuito, Eric Butler, and Michelle Hudson for being our inaugural advocates, and Daniela Thompson Walters for coordinating the program! In total, putting this program together took the efforts of more than 20 members from pupil to master.

We’re looking forward to our year end dinner in June!
