Replies are due by April 1, 2026. Thanks to everyone who has participated so far. Please remind your friends and neighbors to return their surveys, too.

The Community Council Is Conducting Two Surveys & Your Opinion Matters!

Survey #1: Housing Availability

The Trout Lake Community Council in cooperation with the Office of Rural and Farmworker Housing (ORFH) is gathering information to better understand housing challenges in Trout Lake. Your opinion matters and your responses will guide future efforts.

There are three survey versions: Homeowner, Renter, and Employer. All Trout Lake households will be sent a printed copy of the surveys during the first week of March. You can also print the surveys attached below or pick up printed copies at the Trout Lake Grocery (TLG) or Little Mountain Hardware (LMH).

Please complete the appropriate survey for your household and/or business and return the form to TLG or LMH on or before April 1, 2026, and enter a drawing to win one of three $50 gift certificates from TLG, LMH, or Trout Lake Hall. Only one gift certificate drawing entry per owner or renter household.

Survey #2: Local Parks & Recreation

The Trout Lake Community Council is working with other Klickitat County Councils to develop a Local Parks and Recreation Plan that will allow us to apply for funding for park development and repair. This 10-minute online survey is a first step in the process. Some questions are customized for each community, some apply county-wide. Your responses are very important!

The survey will be followed by at least one public meeting to discuss results and goals for the Plan. Meetings are anticipated in March or April.

Please Note: This Parks and Recreation Survey is separate from the Housing Availability Survey (outlined above). In addition, it is NOT meant to cover the topics of tourism and economic development. Those topics are being addressed separately.

The Local Parks and Recreation Survey can be taken online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GC89DNM

Folks, now that Initiative 2117 was defeated, it looks like the County will have the funding to write a solar ordinance and to work on the comprehensive plan. Solar ordinance is in progress now, and the County is seeking members for an advisory committee. Trout Lake needs someone on this committee, either from the Council or someone who is willing to bring information back to the Council. More information here.
