To all the new followers, thank you for your interest! Blankets of Comfort is still navigating the changes of the Ministry, and we appreciate everyone's patience. Jeannie's brother, Allen Honish, is now the CEO, and is committed to seeing Blankets of Comfort continue in the fashion it's founder, Jeannie, intended: every child removed from their home by CPS receive a blanket for comfort, with words of affirmation sewn on to remind the child they are loved, and safe.
This being said, Blankets of Comfort would like a few more board members, and people that enjoy quilting to join us in keeping the Ministry thriving. Send a pm to me with your name, email, phone number to be contacted with further information.

Giving a big thank you to Sarah and Michelle for delivering 30 blankets to 4 kids 4 families on March 25, 2026! These were the last blankets made by the Ministry's founder, Jeannie Ebnet. 18 of these blankets, Jeannie sewed 3 weeks before her passing. Jeannie fretted over getting them completed, "I have to finish these before my time is up!". Wore her out physically, but the relief and joy that shown on her face, in her eyes, when the last stitch was made!!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our founder and Executive Director, Jeannie.

Jeannie lived a life of faith and service, caring for others for over 40 years and continuing that calling through Blankets of Comfort Ministries, bringing comfort and love to so many children.

Her legacy of compassion and Christ-centered love will live on.

Blankets of Comfort Ministries had the exciting opportunity of partnering with 4Kids4Families, a dedicated organization working to ensure every child has a safe, loving home and family. Together, we’re reaching children across East Texas, offering warmth, hope, and the reminder that they are seen and valued. ❤️

If you’d like to support this mission and use your sewing skills to spread comfort in your community, we are looking for up to five volunteer sewers in Lamar, Gregg, Bowie, and Henderson Counties. Volunteers will receive a complete blanket kit from the Ministry to sew and return.

The Ministry is donating these blankets to help launch and support each Hub’s operations. Volunteers will receive a complete kit to sew and return. Want to go a step further? You can also sponsor a blanket kit, helping us extend love and care even farther.

🌱 Flourish Friday shines a Spotlight on Blankets of Comfort Ministries!

Did you know that approximately 10,000 children in Texas were removed from unsafe conditions in 2022? Many of these young ones left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, facing a traumatic experience.

That’s where Blanket of Comfort Ministries steps in. Their mission is to provide each child with a soft, warm flannel “Trauma Blanket”—a comforting item they can call their own. These blankets are gifted immediately upon removal, bringing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to children during a difficult time.

Each blanket carries a message of love and affirmation, reminding these children that they are priceless: “Jesus Loves You, You Are Safe, You Are Awesome!”
