Carmel is on the road to becoming a pioneer in the progressive model of Integrated health care in Southern Colorado. In addition, a wide-variety of wellness programs are in the works at Mt. Carmel which will address several areas of health including the prevention and management of chronic disease, weightloss, tobacco cessation, exercise, substance abuse and much more. In addition to physical and behavioral health, Mt. Carmel will nurture the spirit of the community by hosting a variety of events, celebrations and educational and spiritual workshops. By encouraging and building community togetherness, Trinidad will thrive once again. Finally, a place for mind, body and spirit.

The bell tower at Mt. Carmel Wellness & Community Center is receiving a new lease on life.

Construction is now underway on a restoration project that will help preserve a defining feature of the campus and a visible reminder of the property's place in Trinidad's history. Work began Sept. 22 and is expected to conclude by year-end.

This project is paid for in part by a History Colorado State Historical Fund grant. In addition to the $250,000 grant, donor contributions help make this project possible.
