🕯️ A New Offering at St. Philip’s 🕯️

We’re excited to announce a new offering at St. Philip’s: Contemplative Worship on Thursday evenings.

This will be a quiet, reflective time to step away from the busyness of the week, settle into God’s presence, and make space for prayer, stillness, and renewal.

Whether you’ve experienced contemplative worship before or this is something completely new, all are welcome. We hope you’ll join us for this special time together. ❤️

Come and be still. Come and pray. Come and rest.

This is the first of a six part video series leading up to a new Th...

Happy National Relaxation Day! 🌿

In a world that tells us to keep going, today is a good reminder to slow down, breathe, and rest. Rest is a gift from God, and taking time to care for ourselves allows us to better care for others.

We hope you find a moment today to step outside, enjoy the quiet, spend time with loved ones, or simply be still.

"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 💙

Happy Son and Daughter Day! 💛

Today we're thankful for the children and young people who bring so much joy to our lives and our church. Whether they're biological, adopted, fostered, stepchildren, or chosen family, each is a beloved child of God.

We also hold in prayer those for whom today is difficult. May God's love bring comfort, hope, and peace. 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to John Hartig for leading our worship service today and to Mike Harris for sharing the message with us. ❤️

Today’s sermon offered a thoughtful reminder of the importance of keeping our faith centered on Christ, while being mindful of the ways faith and national identity can sometimes become intertwined. We were encouraged to approach these conversations with humility, love, and a commitment to the Gospel.

Thank you, John and Mike, for helping us reflect, learn, and grow together in faith. 🙏

Today, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pastor Duane Schafer for leading worship and to John Hartig for assisting while Pastor Jack enjoys a well-deserved vacation. 🚢

Pastor Duane centered the children's sermon on the line from the Lord's Prayer, "Give us this day our daily bread," inviting us all to think about the many meanings behind these words. Bread, in this context, is so much more than the food we eat. It can represent God's provision, our daily needs, the care we receive from one another, and the ways we are called to share those gifts with others. It was a thoughtful reminder that God often provides for us through one another. ✝️

We are so grateful for everyone who shares their time and gifts to help lead our congregation in worship. Thank you, Pastor Duane and John, for serving with us today. 🙏

We invite you to join us next Sunday, when John Hartig will be leading the service and Mike Harris will be sharing the sermon. We look forward to worshiping with you! ☺️

Last week, the men of St. Philip's gathered at Baldo's for their monthly dinner. Every third Tuesday, they come together for good food, great conversation, and fellowship.

These dinners are a simple reminder that faith grows not only in worship, but around the table as we laugh, listen, and encourage one another. If you've been looking for a place to connect, we'd love for you to join us next time!

We had such a wonderful and unique morning together today.

Instead of worshiping from the chairs, we gathered around tables, shared breakfast, and made space for meaningful conversation.

Around our tables, we reflected on the people and experiences that have shaped us by asking, Who is one person who helped form you, or what is an event that changed your life?

We also spent time in Genesis 2:4b-7, wondering what it means that we are formed from the same earth as the first Adam and asking, When are you most aware of God's breath, wind, and life?

Of course, we also had a little help from our youngest worshipers! The surprise item in the children’s bag was a minion, which gave our children the chance to teach all of us about minions and their great love for bananas. 🍌

There is something special about sharing a meal, listening to one another's stories, and growing in faith together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, and we are so grateful to all who joined us this morning!
