Hey, folks! The Optimist Club is having our 38th Annual Golf Tournament. This year we are being hosted by Dogwood Hills Golf Course on Saturday, August 29, 2026 with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Georgia time. Please get together a team for the four person select shot event! It is $100 per person. The golf tournament is our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps to sponsor many of our programs for the youth in Dade County, including scholarships for our high school seniors. It is going to be a great event! I hope to see you there!

Just a quick reminder that tonight is the Comedy Competition at the Dade County High School Auditorium. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 15 and under. You can purchase tickets at the door. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the event will start promptly at 7:00 pm. We have eight intrepid and brave competitors who do comedy routines to impress our professional comedian judges: Mark Miller, Austin Barnwell, and Big Rich Brock, all of whom will be performing as well. The judges will crown the State of Dade Comedy Champion for 2026. There will also be a People's Choice Award, so come and vote for your favorite local would-be comedian. The proceeds will fund scholarships for our local high school seniors. I hope to see you there! You'll have a great time!

Come and join us! The Optimist Club of Trenton-Dade meets every Tuesday at noon at Guthries' Restaurant (except the fifth Tuesday, if there is one). It is a great group of people who have fun supporting and promoting the youth in Dade County through student recognition, essay and oratorical competitions, and funding scholarships for those seniors furthering their education beyond high school. We'd love to have you be a part of it!

The Optimist Club of Trenton-Dade is having a comedy competition. The winner will receive an entry into the Comedy Catch’s Wildcard Wednesday competition, a guest spot on the Life with ROJO podcast, a cash prize, and, most importantly, be crowned the State of Dade Comedy Champion for 2026! The event will be at the Auditorium at the Dade County High School on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the event will start promptly at 7:00 pm. Our event will be hosted by Mark Miller and Austin Barnwell from Life with ROJO and Latte & Laughs fame. After the contestants do their thing, we will close with our headliner comic, Big Rich Brock.
