Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in the Newfields Delegate Day of service project. I got to help 3 awsome horticulturist winter their garden beds. We pulled out seasonal flowers and plants. In 2 different garden beds we pulled out weeds and flowers, got rid of some rotten pumpkins and picked up all the fallen leafs! To end the day on a good note, we were given a tour of their entire garden!

Today, I attended my Delegate Day of Service with the Boone County Invasives Cooperative. Together, we worked to remove invasive species around Carpenter Nature Preserve’s entrance such as Amur Honeysuckle and Silver Leaf. Afterwards, we planted seeds for the sunny area, dry area, and the wet area of the preserve. Overall, it was an amazing day!

Today we participated in Delegates Day of Service at the Cool Creek Park, part of the Hamilton County Park System! We removed amur honeysuckle, which is an invasive species that is causing an imbalance of the environment. It has invaded 40% of their woods, which is driving out native birds and insects. By removing the species, we worked towards restoring balance to the ecosystem. We are so thankful for this opportunity to serve the community!

Today I visited the STEM Connection for the National Delegate Day of Service! I spent time winterizing flower beds, planting cover crops, painting benches/tables, assembling at-home STEM exploration kits for students, and even got a tour of the farm! Thank you so much to National FFA for allowing us to be a part of something so big. We truly learned what it means to be Living to Serve today!

Today I had the opportunity to participate in the Broad Ripple Village Association community service project. I got to help the Indianapolis brighten their town by painting guard rails and picking up trash. While other members of my group planned tulips, cleaned tree bed, and painted signs.
