GENERAL PSA ▪️ Races are in full swing for the 2024 season, but some of you may be heading to your first race in the month of May. Here are some helpful reminders for you before you hit the water.

➡️ Have a current APBA membership.
▪️ Join online at www.apba.org

➡️ Have a current CLUB membership.
▪️ Join at the race site or find your local racing club’s website and join online.

➡️ Have a current physical and capsule training certificate (if applicable) on file at APBA HQ.
▪️ Check your category rule book for specific physical information.
▪️ Submit your physical and capsule information along with your APBA membership in order to receive it on your card.
▪️ If your information is not on your card, bring a COPY with you to every race. Do not bring an original. Keep that for your records.
▪️ If you would like a replacement card with your current physical and capsule dates on it, contact us at HQ, and we can accommodate. A new card is $10.

➡️ HOT PITS REMINDERS
▪️ You must be at least a NON-RACING (Participating) member in order to be in the Hot Pits. That’s the $65 membership, 𝐍𝐎𝐓 the $35 membership. 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐏𝐁𝐀.
▪️ Joining as Associate ($35) will 𝐍𝐎𝐓 get you into the Hot Pits. This membership is a subscription to Propeller Magazine.
▪️ KID’S CREW: Anyone 16 years of age or under is eligible for a Kid’s Crew membership ($24.99) and will have access to the Hot Pits with restrictions. See Section 4.9 of the 2024 APBA Bylaws.

It is with extreme sadness that we must inform everyone of the death of OPC F1 and Formula 200 competitor Bobby Briggs ( #41 – Toledo, Ohio). Bobby raced with Superleague over the past few years and his fan base grew every time he arrived at a race site. He will be remembered by all of us as a competitor who raced fairly, with a generous spirit. We mourn his passing and offer our sincere condolences to his family, his teammates, and his close friends.

SST 45 ENGINE REPAIR INFORMATION - The OPC Motor Technical Committee was made aware of an issue some drivers were experiencing with the rear boss in the SST45 exhaust housing cracking or breaking. This boss is required to remain in place for the exhaust housing to be legal. Competitors have had to weld the boss or in some cases replace the exhaust housing. Sea-Way Marine has developed a replacement part, which has been approved by the OPC Motor Technical Committee. This new part serves as a legal and inexpensive repair. We appreciate Sea-Way Marine's help in making this available.
