The Association of Black Women Lawyers is committed to providing outstanding service to women and to the community-at-large, as demonstrated by an untiring commitment to improving the quality of life not only of women of color, but of all women and the general community. ABWL services the community by facilitating and disseminating discussion and information on a wide range of topics including, pu

blic education, financing, municipal bonding, domestic violence, mortgage foreclosure and the juvenile justice system. It has cooperated with other state, county and minority bar associations in social and professional activities. The Association has also fundraised for a variety causes including, health care for the homeless in conjunction with Comic Relief, breast cancer awareness with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the annual United Negro College Fund (UNCF) campaign.

Today along Past Presidents Carolyn Chang and Paulette Brown, Ryan Haygood and others from the Institute of Social Justice I was able to witness the Governor sign a historic Executive Order restoring jury service to more than 300,000 New Jerseyans who have completed their sentence.  It was a good day.
