A Better Way was created by Law Enforcement officers and mental health professionals who noticed that youth at risk for incarceration and previously incarcerated individuals and their families have the least job training and the lowest rate of employment. Individuals and families that would otherwise be a burden on the taxpayer can find resources and support from A Better Way. Our work in transiti
oning these clients and their families into self sufficiency saves taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. A Better Way with its headquarters in Mercer County, New Jersey is a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization. We provide a host of services: prevention strategies - ranging from mentoring and life coaches to substance abuse and anger management counseling: educational resources -GED prep, computer classes and job training: job placement services -resume writing, hiring referrals, bonding, transportation and application fee assistance: legal resources-legal consultations, expungement resources and volunteer court advocates. During the growth process we provide other practical help through our Food Pantry, Thrift Store and referral program. Individuals that participate in our program and master these strategies have had a positive impact on society and have become role models for their families and the communities in which they live. A Better Way provides not only empowerment through our client contacts, but we also work directly with the Community through Street Teams that clean and beautify target neighborhoods, home renovation projects as well as community outreach fairs such as our "Bring Your Parent's to the Park" days. The programs that A Better Way sponsors reduces recidivism and fosters a sense of community and pride.
