Today we had the pleasure of celebrating the very last clinical day for this month’s NCMC LPN nursing students at Sunnyview Nursing Home & Apartments! We celebrated by enjoying a hot dog and dirty soda bar as well as little gifts for the students and instructors.

Over the past several weeks, these students have shown an incredible willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow in their nursing skills. More importantly, they have treated our residents with genuine kindness, compassion, and respect (qualities that make exceptional nurses.)

We are grateful they chose Sunnyview as part of their nursing journey and hope their time with us has been as rewarding as it has been for our residents and staff.

From all of us at Sunnyview, we wish each of you the very best of luck on your final exams and your State Board (NCLEX-PN) exams. We have no doubt you’ll do amazing things in your nursing careers!

The residents had so much fun and won some nice snacks & prizes in today's activity Funky Chicken Toss!! They all had the opportunity to win some goodies and brought so many smiles across all their faces.

This week for Nursing Home Week was full of special memories and meaningful moments. Our theme, “Moments in Bloom,” truly came to life each day.

We started Monday with some much-needed porch time and delicious edible dirt cups. On Tuesday, residents enjoyed making bioplastic sun catchers with pressed flowers. Wednesday brought a special treat as Three Rivers Hospice came out to serve iced coffees and refreshers for both staff and residents. Later that day, the staff worked together to create a 20-foot banana split for everyone to enjoy.

Thursday was packed with fun as some awesome young volunteer's came in to do some science experiments, and residents got to make their own lava lamps. We wrapped up the week on Friday with a BBQ, homemade ice cream, and finished the day with a beautiful balloon release.

It was truly an unforgettable week filled with laughter, creativity, sweet treats, and wonderful moments shared together.

Friday, May 15th, we will be hosting a special balloon release for our residents. Each balloon is biodegradable and will include a resident’s name and address attached to it.

If you happen to find one of our balloons, we would love for you to write to one of our residents, send a postcard, or picture from the town where the balloon made its way. It would bring so much joy to our residents to hear from you and learn how far their balloon traveled.
