Alvord, and James I. David, who became a Master Mason on March 24, 1854. The Lodge acquired the number of a defunct Lodge near Jackson, St. John’s Lodge, and received its Charter in January 1855. Meetings initially took place above Duddleson’s store until March 1856 when they moved to a hall above Jaquith’s store, later purchasing Hudson’s store in June 1863. In 1868, a fire destroyed the building, leading to relocation to Saunder’s Hall. A new building was constructed in 1869, dedicated on December 27, 1869, and occupied until April 7, 1920, when the Lodge moved to the present Temple.

It was truly an honor to host such esteemed guests amidst our degree.
Can you believe it?
Four new brothers initiated this year!
Yes, you heard it correctly—four.

Let's extend our warmest wishes to our new brothers as they embark on their journey from Entered Apprentice to the higher degrees.

Brethren,
We have a fellow brother in need.
He is a JD at Olive Branch, Firefighter at Dearborn Hts fire and an instructor.
While its not my place to discuss his medical issues.
He has been in and out of the hospital for months now due to a medical issue.
He has dedicated his life to help others and teaching.
Please, keep him in you thoughts and prayers.
If you could help out in anyway the family has started a meal train.
I'm certain the family would accept any help given especially from his brothers.

Did you know that on this day in 1901, Theodore Roosevelt became a Freemason? He was Initiated an Entered Apprentice in Matinecock Lodge No. 806 in Oyster Bay, New York.

Roosevelt took office as Vice President of the United States in March of the same year, and just a few days later received his second Degree: he was Passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on March 27th. He became a Master Mason on April 24th, and five months later -- after the assassination of McKinley in September of 1901 -- became the 26th President of the United States.
