DEMAND FOR TRANSPARENCY AND INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION
Who Is Training Liberia’s Military and Air Pilots?
A Call to Investigate the People, Places, Relationships, and Religious Connections Behind Training Agreements
I call upon the Government of Liberia, the National Legislature, the Ministry of National Defense, and the relevant aviation authorities to ensure that all individuals and institutions involved in training Liberia’s military personnel and air pilots undergo appropriate, independent, and evidence-based vetting.
The investigation should address the following areas:
1. PERSONS
Who are the individuals, military officers, foreign instructors, aviation professionals, advisers, and intermediaries responsible for training Liberia’s military personnel and pilots? What are their verified qualifications, professional histories, and records of conduct?
2. PLACES AND INSTITUTIONS
Which countries, military academies, aviation schools, training centers, private companies, and other institutions are involved? Are these institutions properly authorized, professionally recognized, and capable of delivering the promised training?
3. RELATIONSHIPS AND ASSOCIATIONS
What professional, business, political, family, financial, or other relevant relationships exist between the individuals selected, Liberian government officials, foreign governments, contractors, and organizations involved? Have any undisclosed relationships created conflicts of interest or influenced selection decisions?
4. RELIGIOUS CONNECTIONS
Do any documented relationships involving religious organizations, religious leaders, or faith-based institutions have a material connection to appointments, contracts, funding, or training decisions? If credible evidence suggests improper influence, the relevant authorities should investigate it impartially.
