Loving the Liberian flag is more than proudly displaying its colors. It is a commitment to put Liberia, her people, and her future above party politics and individual interests.

To love Liberia means understanding that no political party is greater than the nation, and no individual is greater than Liberia. Leaders come and go. Political parties rise and fall. But Liberia belongs to all of us—and to the generations coming after us.

🇱🇷 PUT LIBERIA FIRST

Putting Liberia first means:

Truth before political loyalty.

Country before party.

People before personal interests.

National development before individual gain.

Justice before political convenience.

The future before today's selfish desires.

🗣️ SPEAK THE TRUTH WHEN THE FUTURE IS ATTACKED

True patriotism does not mean remaining silent when something is wrong simply because our political party, friend, leader, or relative is involved.

When Liberia's future is threatened, we must have the courage to speak the truth—even when the truth is uncomfortable.

Silence may protect an individual today, but truth can protect an entire generation tomorrow.

🌱 DON'T EAT OUR FUTURE TODAY

We must stop consuming tomorrow's opportunities for today's temporary benefits.

Don't eat our future today.

Our natural resources, public funds, forests, land, institutions, education, and opportunities must be managed with responsibility. What belongs to Liberia today must also serve the children of Liberia tomorrow.

The question should not only be:

> “What can Liberia give me today?”

But also:

> “What am I leaving behind for Liberia tomorrow?”

SPECIAL THANKS TO FLORIDA’S PEACE-LOVING CITIZENS, RESIDENTS & LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

For Immediate Release

We extend our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all peace-loving citizens and residents of Florida, and especially to the dedicated and hardworking law enforcement officers whose courage, commitment, and determination helped rescue 163 children, including the youngest, reportedly just 2 months old.

This is more than a rescue—it is a powerful reminder that every child deserves to be safe, protected, loved, and given the opportunity to grow without fear, exploitation, or abuse.

We commend the law enforcement officers and all individuals who played a role in bringing these vulnerable children to safety. Their work demonstrates the importance of vigilance, cooperation, timely reporting, and strong community partnerships in the fight against child trafficking and child abuse.

🚫 SAY NO TO CHILD TRAFFICKING

Child trafficking is a serious crime that destroys lives and steals the innocence and future of children. We must never remain silent when a child may be in danger.

If you see something, say something.

If you suspect child abuse, neglect, exploitation, or trafficking, report it to the appropriate authorities immediately. Your report could be the action that saves a child's life.

Raising awareness about domestic violence and human trafficking is important because awareness can turn hidden suffering into prevention, protection, reporting, and action.

Why awareness matters

1. It helps people recognize the warning signs.
Many victims, families, and communities may not recognize emotional abuse, coercive control, exploitation, forced labor, sexual exploitation, or trafficking when they first occur.

2. It breaks the culture of silence.
Domestic violence is often treated as a “family matter.” Awareness campaigns help communities understand that violence is a human-rights and public-safety issue, not something victims should have to endure privately. UNODC specifically identifies awareness campaigns as important for reducing stigma and increasing reporting.

3. It encourages victims and witnesses to seek help.
People are more likely to report abuse or trafficking when they know where to go and understand that they deserve protection.

4. It can prevent trafficking before exploitation occurs.
Education can help people identify fraudulent job offers, unsafe migration arrangements, recruitment tactics, and other trafficking risks.

5. It gives governments and organizations better evidence for action.
Good data helps authorities determine where services, shelters, law enforcement, education, and prevention programs are most needed.

The data shows why this campaign matters

The latest WHO estimates, based on data from 168 countries and areas, indicate that approximately 840 million women—nearly 1 in 3 women aged 15 and older—have experienced physical and/or sexual violence during their lifetime.

WHO also warns that these figures are likely underestimates, because stigma, fear, and limited reporting prevent many survivors from appearing in official statistics.

For human trafficking, UNODC tracks victims of trafficking per 100,000 population as an important global indicator. However, detected cases do not represent the full scale of traffi

PRESS STATEMENT

THE FIRST THING TO DO WHEN FIGHTING DRUG CARTELS IS TO CUT OFF THE ROOTS

Monrovia, Liberia — August 23, 2026

The fight against illicit drugs and drug cartels in Liberia must go beyond arresting individuals on the streets. The first thing to do when fighting drug cartels is to cut off the roots.

Drug trafficking is an organized network. If we only arrest those at the bottom while the financiers, suppliers, facilitators, corrupt networks, and other powerful actors behind the trade remain untouched, the problem will continue to grow.

We therefore commend President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and the Government of Liberia for giving serious attention to the fight against illicit drugs and organized drug trafficking. We also recognize the work of Liberia's law-enforcement agencies, security institutions, civil society organizations, community leaders, religious leaders, international partners, and every stakeholder contributing to this national effort.

This is not a fight that government can win alone. The responsibility belongs to all of us.

We call for a comprehensive approach that includes:

1. Following the money — identifying and disrupting the financial networks that sustain drug trafficking.
2. Investigating the roots of the cartels — including suppliers, financiers, organizers, and facilitators, regardless of status or influence.
3. Strengthening border and port security to prevent Liberia from becoming a transit point for illicit drugs.
4. Protecting young people and vulnerable communities through education, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and economic opportunities.
5. Strengthening accountability and the rule of law so that no individual or institution is above investigation when credible evidence exists.
6. Increasing public awareness so citizens understand that the fight against drugs is a national responsibility.
