We are excited to share that we have been awarded funding through the New Jersey Urban Heat Island Mitigation Program (UHI Program) Category 3 grant!

This support will enable us to implement community-identified projects at the microclimate level. The project will provide resilient cooling strategies and strengthen community connections during extreme heat events.

Thank you, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, for partnering with us to advance New Jersey’s energy affordability and climate goals and to make a lasting, positive impact in our community. 🌱 We’re excited to kick off a new partnership with the Trenton South Ward Neighborhood Association at the Lamberton Street Garden!

This morning, our students got their hands in the soil—prepping garden beds and planting fruit trees to help grow a greener South Ward. Huge thanks to Tyrell Smith for welcoming us and getting this effort started!

This is just the beginning. From meadow installations to stormwater planters and citywide plantings, we’ve got exciting projects ahead!
