The Tremont High School Alumni Association invites everyone to 'School and Community: Celebrating an Excellent Connection'!

When: Saturday, October 18
Where: District #702 Cafetorium
Time: 6:00-7:00 - Social Hour, School Tours, Student Performances
7:00 - Alumni Recognition

Tyler Thompson (THS Class of 05), of the critically acclaimed and popular series The Chosen will give the keynote address. Other recognized alumni include Jim Lonergan, Jeff Hinman, Tom Gibson, Drew Gierich, Samantha (Springer) Chakouian, and Amelia (Glueck) Marino.

Know an outstanding Tremont High School alum?? Nominees for alumni association recognition are being accepted now in 3 categories:
1. Distinguished Alumni – outstanding accomplishments and contributions post high school in any field.
2. Athletic – outstanding athletic accomplishments at Tremont High School.
3. Service – Alumni recognized in this category generally provide time and service to a variety of organizations in and around the Tremont community post high school.

Nominations may be sent by mail or dropped off at the high school to:

Nominating letters should include:
• The name and years in high school of the nominee.
• Category of nomination (distinguished, athletic, service)
• Brief narrative and description as to why the nominee deserves recognition

Nominations accepted on behalf of any THS graduate who has been out of school at least 10 years. A committee consisting of Alumni Association members and representatives of District #702 will consider all nominees and make final decisions. Recipients will be honored at the Alumni Association event to be held at the school on October 18 for all community members and friends of District #702.

Winning Communities is excited to announce the second round of engraved pavers to be installed this summer at the cutout on the southeast corner of Sampson and Walnut. This fundraising initiative assists with maintenance on the entire downtown beautification project and adds your personal touch to this endeavor.

Order forms are available at the link below, and the cost of each paver is $125. Please note the deadline of June 30, 2025.

In addition, several benches are available on the 100 and 200 block of S. Sampson for sponsorships or memorials at a cost of $2000. If interested in more information, please leave your name and phone number at the Village Hall and someone will contact you.

Congratulations to our winners of the 2024 Holiday Lights Contest!

Think you can make your home look as charming & Christmassy as downtown Tremont?? Join in for the third annual Holiday Lights Contest! This friendly competition is a great way to make our community even more beautiful for the holidays, so we encourage any and all to participate at no cost.

Send us a message with your address to be added to the map! Maps will be ready by December 7th, and a digital voting form will help choose a People's Choice winner this year. $50 Tremont Commerce Checks and a temporary yard sign to display through the holidays will be awarded to both winners.

A new seating area, featuring engraved pavers, on the 100 block of South Sampson near the Methodist Church parking lot is set to be completed soon. The first round of bricks to be engraved are being sent off the week of August 5.

If you are interested in participating in this Winning Communities fundraiser, forms can be picked up and/or dropped off at the Village Hall. The cost is $125 for a brick with your personalized engraving that will be placed on the newly landscaped area. Funds raised by this initiative aid in the completion of the landscaped area and annual upkeep of all the recently completed beautification projects along the 100 and 200 block of S. Sampson downtown.

Your consideration is greatly appreciated by the Winning Communities Board. Hurry, the first round of engraved bricks are set to go out the week of August 5. The deadline to submit your form is Friday, August 2.

Townwide Garage Sales will be on Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th!
