You may know Sean Chen as a pianist. But there's more to his musical world. In addition to performing around the world, Sean is a composer and arranger who finds new ways to explore music at the piano. On October 25, he'll join Kevin Rhodes and the Traverse City Philharmonic as soloist for Beethoven's “Emperor” Piano Concerto. We can't wait to welcome him back to the stage.

Three things to listen for in Beethoven's Seventh Symphony:
Rhythm.
Momentum.
Contrast.

Beethoven builds the symphony around a pulse that keeps pushing the music forward, moving between moments of intensity, beauty and surprise. You don't need to know anything about classical music to enjoy it. Just listen and let it take you somewhere.

Hear it live on October 25, 2026 at 3:00PM
Corson Auditorium, Interlochen Center for the Arts
