What happens when you see the impact of your child’s trauma—but their teacher doesn’t?

Refusing work. Shutting down when corrected. Forgetting directions. Difficulty with transitions. What looks like defiance, distraction, or a lack of effort may actually be a child struggling to feel safe and regulated enough to learn.

This new CreatingaFamily.org article explores how to advocate for your child without turning the relationship with their teacher into a battle. The goal isn’t to prove trauma exists. It’s to help the school understand what your child needs to succeed.

🍀 2–4 PM — FREE 4-H Clover Youth Activities near the barns
🎡 2 PM — Elliott’s Amusements OPEN

🐷 6–8 PM — Livestock Auction

🎁 While you’re in the Civic Center, DON’T MISS THE SILENT AUCTION BASKETS!

There are some great baskets to bid on, and this fundraiser has a very important purpose. Silent auction proceeds help cover the premium payouts and winnings for our fair exhibitors. Your bids help us recognize the work that goes into these projects all year long.

🎱 BINGO IS OPEN, TOO!
Monday–Saturday | 12 Noon–9 PM

🚗 Fairgrounds Admission: $5 per car
🚶 Walk-in: $1 | Cash only

And if you’ve never attended the Livestock Auction, Thursday is a great night to experience it. Come see what these kids have worked so hard for, support our local youth, and see firsthand what the agricultural side of the Northern District Fair is all about.

Visit the barns. Shop the vendors. Bid on a basket. Ride some rides. Play Bingo. Support our exhibitors.

We’ll see you Thursday at the fair! ❤️🤍💙
