Meet TCDP Artist Madison Hillisgoss, tap dancer, choreographer, and educator. Born in Minnesota, Madison trained in NYC and at Jacob’s Pillow and as a tap soloist has performed with symphony orchestras such as the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, in musicals like “42nd Street” and “Anything Goes”, and has been featured on television on CBS’s 60 Minutes. At all six tour performances, they will perform a tap solo and join the ensemble piece choreographed by TCDP Resident Choreographer Jennifer McQuiston-Lott accompanied by LIVE music from the Charlie Millard Band.

Witnessing the skill and dynamism of tap dance is always an unforgettable experience, and Madison’s addition to our summer tour is truly one of our 15th Anniversary season’s most special highlights. It’s a not-to-be-missed moment!

The Traverse City Dance Project has been awarded a $41,890 Mission Support Grant from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council for our 2026 season — with $5,600 supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.

This grant recognizes the impact of bringing professional dance and live music to communities across Northern Michigan — completely free to the public.

But there’s one catch.

To receive the funding, we must raise a 25% community match of $10,473.

Your support helps unlock funding that will allow us to continue bringing world-class dance to Northern Michigan communities.

The grant will help fund important upgrades for our touring productions, including:

• Outdoor touring theater trunks
• A wireless communication system for our production team
• A new stage skirt for our portable stage
• An outdoor lighting system for community performances

These upgrades will help us bring professional dance to audiences across Northern Michigan — many experiencing live dance for the very first time.

❤️ Help us unlock this grant and keep our performances free for everyone.
