“Girls can do that too?”

A chance encounter with a female Monster Truck driver led to an unforgettable conversation between a mother and her son about what girls can—and cannot—do.

The answer?

Girls can do all the things too. 💛

It’s a message we see reflected in STEPi stories like Amani the Boda-Boda Rider and Fatima’s Race: when children receive support, encouragement and the freedom to dream, stereotypes don’t have to determine their future.

This Women’s Month, we’re celebrating the women who are breaking barriers—and encouraging the girls watching them to imagine even more possibilities.

As we celebrate Women's Month, we're reminded that every courageous woman was once a little girl with a dream.

At STEPi, we believe stories have the power to shape those dreams. They inspire children to imagine new possibilities, build courage, and believe that they can make a difference in the world.

Our latest blog, "I Saw Amani in the Operating Theatre," is a powerful reminder that the impact of a story doesn't end when the final page is turned. Sometimes, a character's courage becomes a child's courage. Sometimes, a story becomes hope.

If even one girl begins to believe, "I can," because she met Amani, then every page has served its purpose.

This Women's Month, let's continue investing in stories that help girls discover their strength, embrace their potential, and pursue their dreams with confidence.

STEPi at the GTI Axis Summit 2026

STEPi had the privilege of facilitating the SPARK Workshop at the GTI Axis Summit 2026, under the powerful theme “Learning Beyond Walls.”

Together, we explored how learning happens not only in classrooms, but also in communities, relationships, playgrounds, open spaces, and the everyday moments that shape children’s lives.

Our workshop focused on a simple but powerful truth:

Happy teachers change the world.

We reflected on the micro-moments that create macro-impact in classrooms and playgrounds, and how the words we use with children can influence their education, confidence, emotional development, and sense of belonging.

A heartfelt thank you to Global Teachers Institute for creating such a meaningful space for educators and changemakers to learn, connect, and imagine education differently.

To every participant who joined us: thank you for your energy, openness, and commitment to teaching with love.
