Here are some great discussion starters:
How is Easter different for people who don’t follow Jesus?

What kind of life do we get through Jesus?

Need a way to talk with your kids about Jesus?
Focus on what they learned in church!⛪

🚗🚙In the Car:
Ask your child about their experiences at church:
What did you learn about Jesus today?
Why did Jesus have to die?
Why did Jesus need to rise from the dead?
Who has the best agenda?

🌟🌟Hanging Out:
Make the lesson real:
There is a fun recipe out there called Resurrection Rolls. It’s basically a crescent roll with a large marshmallow inside. After it’s baked, the marshmallow disappears and looks like an empty tomb. Not only is this a great way to show an empty “tomb” after seeing it start as full, it’s simple and tasty!

➡️➡️WHAT WE LEARNED TODAY

🌟🌟Message:
We are going to take a little tour back through the past three lessons to help us culminate up to the big event! The Jesus Agenda has been completed all because Jesus made himself the sacrifice that we could never bring and conquered death like we could never do. And in light of all those seeking to capitalize on Jesus or bring down Jesus or throw Jesus under the bus, He was still victorious and did exactly what he came to do. SKids will learn the most important aspects of the gospel and why that matters to all of us.

Was Jesus treated fairly?
Did Pilate do a good job as the judge?
Is wanting someone to die the sign of love or hate?

🚗🚙 tIn the Car:
Ask your child about their experiences at church⛪:
What did you learn about Jesus today?
Who did the Jews want released instead of Jesus?
Who warned Pilate not to involve himself with this innocent man?
What ended up happening to Jesus?

Make the lesson real:
Help your children understand how to decide whether or not something is worth the trouble. Let them run errands with you on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Bring up moments that may require more effort or energy or money or time and ask, “Is it worth the trouble?” Maybe it’s having to take a different route because of traffic. It could be choosing a longer line so that an elderly person can check out before you. Or even going to more than one grocery store to maximize your budget.

We continued with "The Big Plan" yesterday in TrailKids!🌟

➡️Our message from yesterday:
Jesus had to face the Roman government who was no friend to the Jews. That relationship was tenuous at best. And yet, Jesus was unafraid and unshaken. Juxtaposed against Pilate, who was distressed, uncertain, and cowardly, our Savior shone brightly in his darkest hour of human life. Pilate didn’t want any trouble to come down on him and allowed an innocent man to be executed to save face with Rome. Jesus took on all of humanity’s trouble from sin despite the injustice that was done to Him. The contrast is stark.

Bring them to church. Saturate their lives with the Word of God. Even if they lay on the floor. Even if they need 437 goldfish and a sucker to be quiet. Even if you stand in the back swaying back and forth holding them. Even when it’s hard. Even when when your row looks like a small hurricane just came through. Bring them to church. Let them see you worship. Let them see you pray. Let them see you running toward the Savior ... because if they don’t see and learn these things from you, who are they going to learn them from?

The world will teach them it’s not a priority. The world will teach them it’s okay to lay out, not to pick up their Bibles. The world will direct them so far off course, confuse them, and misinform them that just being “good” is enough. The world won’t teach them about Jesus. That’s our job.

Bring them to church.

➡️Parent Time:
Sometimes we’ll allow those in authority to affect how we operate with our children. We can let the fear of being different dictate what we say. Especially in today’s world, there are people and entities of authority all around us that put the pressure on to conform to their commands. While this is a tough balance to maintain, stay focused on the one who is the true power and authority and let His commands dictate your words and how you operate with your children. He will never lead us astray.
