Dancing Days

Dancing Days Dancing Days is a week long experience for dancers with three evening Pow Wows and extensive training for youth interested in Pow Wow dancing.

“Dancing Days” at COI will be showcasing premier North American Plains dance styles and craft instruction for all ages. Dancers and craftsmen will come away with a new found appreciation of powwow dance styles and educational research to make outstanding Plains style dance clothes. Education in dance and crafts will be related to the North American Plains Dance styles for this week, including:

Instructors from across the US will be here to help you become more confident at dancing, singing and crafting for your AIA efforts. In addition to the days filled with dance, song, and craft instruction, the evenings will contain:

3 Powwows
Camp Feeds
2 Swap, Buy, and Sell sessions
Full access to the AIA craft trading post
Who can attend? Registered Scouts – Boy Scouts, Venturing, Adult Leaders (Male and Female)

What’s the cost? A $300 fee covers the entire week, including food, lodging and some supplies. Additionally, participants will receive a $50 voucher for the AIA Craft Trading Post for purchasing quality craft items, supplies and other merchandise. What are the housing accommodations? All participants will be housed in three-walled open air cabins called Adirondacks that sleep about 4-8 people. As this is a BSA Camp, we will abide by Youth Protection principles and account for gender and age when assigning areas. Each campsite features a bathhouse with hot showers and toilets. Tipis are welcome.
