Members from the TR Police and Fire Foundation were out and about with Officer Henry Blake this week, securing sponsorships for one of TR’s favorite events — National Night Out!

This fun-filled, FREE annual celebration brings our community and the Travelers Rest Police Department together for a night of connection, safety, and fun.

We’re incredibly thankful for our dedicated first responders and proud to support the people who protect and serve TR every day.

We had a fantastic time at yesterday’s Recognition Luncheon!

It was our honor to celebrate some of the incredible first responders who serve the City of Travelers Rest with dedication and courage every day.

Honorees included:
TR Police Department – Officer Henry Blake and Officer Daniel Guy
TR Fire Department – Capt. Sean Irvin and Retired Lt. Chris Smith

We were also joined by Furman University student Greyson Henry, Philanthropy Chair of Beta Theta Pi, who presented a generous donation of $1,843.50 to the foundation—funds raised during the Fraternity’s Leprechaun Run held in March.

Big thanks to Lawson’s for the delicious BBQ, and an even bigger thanks to our community for the continued support that allows us to recognize and uplift those who protect and serve Travelers Rest.

Representing the TR Police and Fire Foundation are President Tom Bates and Vice President Paul Pappy.

🎄 A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Guardian Light Sponsors 🎄

Three members of the TR Police and Fire Foundation Board—Lisa Lane, Paul Pappy, and Tom Bates—had the privilege of visiting two of our Guardian Light Sponsor Restaurants, Sushi Yama and Chicora Alley.

These incredible local businesses helped fund the purchase of Guardian Lights—body cameras that attach to our officers' and firefighters' lapels, making them more visible and adding an extra layer of protection as they protect us.

Our goal has always been to equip every officer and firefighter in Travelers Rest with a Guardian Light, and thanks to these generous sponsors, we're one step closer to making that a reality.

We were also joined by members of the TR Police and Fire Departments in expressing our heartfelt thanks to Sushi Yama and Chicora Alley for their support.

What a wonderful way to celebrate OUR community, OUR public protectors, and of course, the Spirit of Christmas! 🎅
