Don't forget about our upcoming workshops - all free and open to the public! Next up is our Healthy Home Awareness workshop on June 4th from 6pm to 7:30pm at the library in Cambridge. Come and learn about the 29 hazards in most homes that everyone should be able to recognize and be able to mitigate. You will learn about:

* Protection against Accidents
* Protection against Infection
* Physical Hazard Awareness

The House Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee released its draft bill, which includes funding for rural housing programs. The draft includes language to address loan limit changes to the Section 502 Direct Loan Program that we rely on. Make those calls to Rep Harris and Senators Van Hollen and Alsobrooks TODAY to help preserve this program!

📣ADVOCACY ALERT!! 📣 Now is the time to urge Congress to provide funding for the USDA Section 502 Direct Loan Program at no less than $1.26 billion. Call Rep. Harris and both Maryland Senators!

This program is critical to Habitat Choptank as it provides direct long-term subsidized loans to low- and very low-income rural households. We work with our homebuyers and assist them in completing their application to USDA - and in turn, we are able to use the loans to finance the construction of our next homes.
