It’s been nearly three years since Ryan was taken from us. The Cooper family would like to take a moment to thank those who have stood by us from the beginning. Words cannot express how your love and support have carried us through the hurt and anger created by this senseless act.
We want to thank both our local and state law enforcement agencies. We have full faith in their methods and in the actions taken. The process has been long, tedious and is ongoing. The level of dedication to solving Ryan’s case is largely unknown by the public, as it should be. We appreciate the ongoing communication provided to us throughout the process.
We know Ryan’s murder has had a profound impact on our community. We live in a small community, a place where we know our neighbors. A place where we felt safe in our homes. We know this single act has dimmed the light of our small town. We encourage you to remember why we all choose to live here; why we love the small-town life. It’s easy to get pulled into the rumors and misinformation that spreads so quickly. We ask you to have patience through the process; the truth is coming. Any information you are hearing on the street is not coming from trusted sources. The Tama County Sheriff’s department nor the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation are sharing information or evidence. Misinformation is not helpful to anyone, especially the families and children involved on both sides of this case.
We look forward to justice being served. It will not bring Ryan back, but we are hopeful it will allow us and our community to heal and move forward.
Ride on Lil Coop! 💙
