Foundation Friday: Arts Accessible to All

One of the most meaningful things the Grand Foundation does is help local schools bring their students to live performances at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.

Recently, we underwrote shows like Beauty and the Beast, Rumpelstiltskin, Treasure Island, and Cirque Kalabante — opening doors to the arts for kids who might not otherwise get the chance.

We prioritize programs that include students with special needs, LGBTQ+ youth, and others who often face barriers to arts access. These performances aren’t just entertainment, they’re powerful experiences that foster imagination, connection, and belonging.

We believe the arts should be for everyone.

And when the students send us thank-you artwork after the shows? That’s when we know it really matters. 💜

Foundation Friday: Honoring the Roots

This beautiful wall inside the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts recognizes the donors who contributed to the Bricks and Mortar Campaign that helped fund the building of this facility and the recent donors who funded the Centennial Restoration Projects.

Pictured here are Ann Langley and Cynthia Souza — two founding members of the original Arts Leadership Alliance (ALA), which later became the Grand Foundation. Their early passion for the arts, and the ALA’s effort in raising over $1 million, directly led to the creation of the Grand Theatre Center For the Arts itself. Without their work, the venue wouldn’t exist as we know it today.

We’re proud to carry that legacy forward — one member, one donor, and one program at a time.

We’re still glowing from our Centennial Donor Thank You Party on April 3rd! Huge thanks to President Cynthia and Executive Board Member Param for sharing thoughtful remarks, and to the planning committee for making the evening so special.

Thank you to our members, city officials, VIP guests, and especially our Grand Centennial Donors. Your generosity made vital upgrades at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts possible. The Grand Foundation is proud to be the fundraising partner to this historic venue.

Surprise! Our membership sign-up got a visual refresh! It’s the same form behind the scenes, but we gave the theme a much-needed makeover to better reflect our brand.
