What a fun night last night at the Tracy CHP Bike Rodeo/ Cub Scout Pack 525 Recruitment Event! This is the way... to kick off the year and I hope a lot of new friends will be joining us after last night!

Scouting is even more fun with friends!

This fall, Scouting America Outfitters is bringing back the FREE Recruiter Strip Emblem promotion for 2026! Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA members, and other Scouts can earn this special patch by inviting a friend to experience the fun, adventure, and excitement of Scouting.

Here’s how it works:

✅ Invite a Friend - A Scout brings a friend to a den, pack, or troop meeting and introduces them to Scouting!

✅ Get Signed Up - When the new Scout officially joins, the Scout who invited them completes the special Recruiter promo flyer or postcard. These are found in the 2026 Cub Scout Welcome Kit and at local Scout shops.

✅ Claim the Patch - The Scout takes the card to the local Scout shop and receives a FREE Recruiter Strip Emblem!

It’s simple: Invite. Welcome. Earn.

Encourage Scouts to bring a friend along for the adventure and earn a special patch along the way!

Come join the fun! Next Wednesday, August 19 at 6:30pm, is our annual Fall recruitment event, hosted by CHP Tracy! So bring your bikes/scooters, helmets and friends down to the CHP Bike Rodeo! Your K-5 friends can learn about Cub Scouts and how to join our Pack, and all kids can ride on a bike safety course!

A scout is reverent. Today Cub Scouts from Pack 525, along side Scouts from BSA Troop 525, assisted Tracy Elks Lodge with their Annual Flag Day ceremony.

Today we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and mother figures who support our Cub Scouts’ growth and confidence as they learn to explore their world and their very important role in it. ❤️💐

Whether you’re volunteering every event or making sure your Scout gets to the next meeting, your support matters more than you know.

Reach out and help a long time Scouter feel like he matters!

Send (a) letter(s) to Mr.Edgar to cheer a long time scouter up! I am also making him for over 60 years of service to . 👏🫶⚜️

⚜️ Units can do this and *hint* you may be able to use this to help mark of a requirement and teach scouts about giving back

"Hi Scouting family,

I’m hoping you can help me do something special for my grandfather, called "Mr. Edgar" by generations of Scouts.

He dedicated over 60 years of his life to Scouting, serving as a Scoutmaster in West Tennessee and helping guide more than 1,000 young men to earn their Eagle Scout rank. He was deeply involved in the Order of the Arrow, received the Silver Beaver Award, and led countless high adventure trips to Philmont and Sea Base, amongst so much more.

Now at 89 years old (turning 90 in Dec.) , life has slowed down a bit.

He doesn’t get out much anymore, not because he doesn’t want to, but because hearing has become difficult and group settings can be overwhelming. Lately, he’s been feeling like he’s “taking up space,” which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Scouting was one of the greatest passions of his life. It shaped who he is, and he gave so much of himself to it.

So I had an idea.

If anyone is willing, I would love to surprise him with letters from fellow Scouts, past or present, sharing your favorite Scouting memories, what Scouting meant to you, or even just a note of appreciation for leaders like him who gave their time to others.

My hope is to fill his mailbox with stories that remind him of the impact he’s had, not just on individuals, but on an entire community.
