Animal Rescue of Tracy Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats however we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

UPDATED WITH ACTIVE LINKS ….

We had a SLOW weekend of adoptions with 3 foster fails” (foster families fall in love and can’t let their “furbabies” leave) and 2 kittens finding new families. We also took in 9 abandoned “Itty bitties” — 7 with RINGWORM.

After all this, it felt like the climb up the hill was pretty steep and then we learned a WONDERFUL young person working on her EAGLE PROJECT has begun collecting donations and supplies for Animal Rescue of Tracy.

This project was months in the making beginning with the sharing of her idea with ART’s President to ensure we were on board with her goals. We can’t wait to see how the project turns out AND are so proud Bhumi Sehgal decided to “Lend a Paw”!

If you can support this project, please do so, and please SHARE with your network of friends, neighbors, family to get as many folks supporting Bhumi’s Eagle Scout Project benefitting Animal Rescue of Tracy.

“PLEASE SUPPORT BHUMI SEHGAL, A LIFE SCOUT FROM TROOP 2223. BELOW IS HER MESSAGE.

Hi! I am Bhumi Sehgal, a senior at Mountain House High School. I am working on my Eagle Project with Troop 2223. I am gathering supplies to donate to the Animal Rescue of Tracy, and it would be great if you could help me out by donating to my project. More information is given below in the flyer, and here are all included links:

This Sunday — October 4, 2026 — we celebrate WORLD ANIMAL DAY. This day honors St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, who passed away on October 4, 1226. His message of mercy toward all creatures great and small lives on in the hearts of animal lovers around the globe each October 4th.

Come to our ADOPTION FAIR inside the West Valley Mall both Saturday AND Sunday and CELEBRATE the day by giving a home to one of our amazing, adoptable cats/kittens (and “goodest boy”, CASH).

Don’t forget we have our “Fall Feline Frenzy” Adoption Special ongoing until October 23rd. Check out BIOS on our website at: www.animalrescuetracy.org.

Our “Goodest Boy” CASH, who is worth his weight in GOLD, is still looking for his FOREVER HOME — and we don’t know WHY!

Now almost 2 years old, CASH was found as a puppy abandoned & tied to a fence in an Industrial Park. The family who found him fostered for as long as they could, but when that was no longer an option he went into Board & Training because ART had no other fosters to take him.

There he learned to be a “Canine Good Citizen”and FINALLY found what we thought was the perfect home. Unfortunately this was not to be (at no fault of his)and he returned to Board & Training. CASH has learned so many great skills and yet he still has not found his FOREVER family.

CASH’S Trainer Eric Gonzales with Tactical K9, has “upped” training to continue CASH’S growth and skills! It’s important to keep certain breeds of dog challenged mentally and physically no matter their age and as a “Working Breed”, we believe this training will make CASH an even better “Goodest Boy” than he already is when his family walks in the door!

CASH’s adoption fee is $100, PLUS he comes with 4 complimentary training sessions upon adoption, is fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, has not one but TWO Adoption Day Gift Bags filled with treats, food, toys and much more AND a complimentary Vet visit to a local Vet.
