Our Tracy VIPS team had the opportunity to attend the NorCal Law Enforcement Volunteer Symposium (NCLEV) — an incredible event focused on learning, collaboration, and strengthening connections across agencies.
We’re proud to have been part of such an inspiring group of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to supporting their communities. From sharing best practices to building new partnerships, today’s symposium highlighted the powerful impact volunteer programs have on public safety and community trust.
A huge thank you to our Tracy Police Department for sending us and supporting our continued growth. We’re excited to bring back valuable insights to better serve our community 👏

🚨 The Tracy Police Department’s Community Police Academy is back for 2025! The Community Police Academy offers an exciting opportunity to learn more about Tracy PD, and what it takes to serve and protect our community.

Over five Saturdays, participants will explore different units within Tracy PD through interactive discussions, real-world demonstrations, and hands-on activities. From patrol and investigations to specialized units, the Community Police Academy gives a comprehensive look at the challenges and responsibilities that the Tracy Police Department handles each day.

🗓 September 27 – October 25
🕘 Saturdays | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍Tracy Police Department (1000 Civic Center Drive, Tracy, CA 95376)

Participants must be at least 18 years old and complete an application process that includes fingerprinting and a background check. Spots are limited, with priority given to those who live or work in Tracy.

This month we celebrate Alma, our May VIPS of the Month!

Alma joined the Tracy VIPS in 2017. She is an asset to the team and is always there to lend a helping hand anywhere help is needed.

Our team has been to every single Java and Jalopies Event since it was created! We are honored that they in turn would like to promote us at their July event! Come out and say hi! We will be available to talk about our program and what we do for the community and the Tracy Police Department, and we will also be accepting donations for those who would like to help us continue our efforts!

We would love to see you in July, but you don't have to wait until July! We will be there every month- always the second Saturday of the month from 8-10am in Tracy Raley's parking lot!

We appreciate our dispatchers for being the “Guardian Angels” for our officers and for us too!

Oftentimes the very first contact the public has when calling for help is with the unseen first responders. As we near the end of National Telecommunications Week, we would like to take the time to recognize the hardworking dispatchers who provide a valuable service to the community and department!
