The History of Gospel Partners

Gospel Partners was started primarily to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have never heard it. It was designed so that ministers who are native to India could preach and teach the word of God, oversee the care of orphans and widows, and help the sick and poor of India without having missionaries from the United States or other countries live there full time. Over its 40 years in existence, thousands of people have heard the good news that Jesus is the Christ. There are several hundred ministers of the gospel living and working in Andhra Pradesh State. Gospel Partners supports 3 of these men in various ways. In 2008 we opened Brinkley Memorial School to serve the children of parents with Hansen’s disease (also known as leprosy) living in Tanuku. We began with 75 students, now have an enrollment of 664 children, who are being given a chance to have an education they otherwise could never have, as they are not allowed in regular schools due to their parents’ condition. The school had a feeding program that provided a midday and evening meal six days per week, but due to huge growth we now feed I meal per day ,orphans 3 meals. Our food bill is $1,900 per month. In 2008 we took our first 6 orphaned children to live in the church/school building. Within two months it became imperative that we take 22 more children. In 2010 we added 6 more children, 6 from poor congregation and 3 from a tribal congregation,over time we now serve 122 orphans.

We have dedicated staff of 18 teachers, 17 very needed helpers, 2 cooks, 2 cleaners , 1 watchman , our director and assistant director. At this time, the total salaries for the director and staff is 1,990 per month. Orphan Care , which includes personal care items and living in our Children’s Home with supervised 24 hour care , also $1,900. per month. Total amount to operate school and children’s home is $5,880.00 per month.
