Senior Brunch at Lunch has become an annual tradition. With the help of 18 fantastic Ambassadors, this has been ELA’s strongest year ever. Thank you all! We will miss our seniors, but we know they are going on to do great things. Site leader, Victoria, (left) will be working at a nonprofit law firm in her FL hometown, assisting with criminal rights by mitigating capital punishment. Emma is a Fulbright Scholar who will be teaching English in Bulgaria. Congratulations!

Color Run Recap

The 3rd annual Color Run for Early Literacy Ambassadors was a success! 60 people participated in the run, and 10 volunteers helped make it happen. We appreciate Chick-fil-a for coming out with a food tent and donating 10% of the profits. Thank you, Cove Creek Farm and Mountain Goat Trail Alliance, for partnering with us.

We raised $1657 to support our Story Time and Reading Group programs. This year we reached 150 students 1-4 times per week at 5 Franklin and Grundy county schools. 18 college students have assisted as interns and volunteers.

Join us in welcoming our site leader for the 26/27 school year! “Hi! My name is Pearse Connell. I am a sophomore from Connecticut and Sun Valley, Idaho! I am a math major with minors in business and politics! I am the merch chair of Theta Kappa Phi and a member of the women’s lacrosse team! I have babysat and worked as a sailing instructor. I am so excited to be a part of ELA!!!”

Welcoming a new ambassador! “Hi Everyone! My name is Stella Martin, and I’m a junior majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. I plan on pursuing a career Dentistry after my time at Sewanee. Outside of being a captain of the Sewanee Women’s Soccer Team, I love being involved either chemistry club and fundraising for Sewanee for St. Jude’s! My current hobbies are learning how to crochet, pickleball and baking! I’m so grateful and excited to be an ELA ambassador!”
