You’re Invited: An Open Freemasons Ceremony in Towson
Dear Towson Neighbor,
Have you ever wondered what happens inside a meeting of Freemasons—the same kind once attended by figures like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin? On Saturday, January 17, you’ll have the opportunity to find out.
Corinthian Lodge No. 93 invites Towson residents and their families to attend its annual Installation of Officers, a formal ceremony in which lodge leadership is ceremonially sworn in for the coming year. Versions of this ceremony have been practiced by Freemasons for centuries, making it one of the oldest continuously performed ceremonial traditions in the world.
While most Masonic meetings are private, select Maryland lodges open this ceremony to the public. It offers a rare chance to observe an authentic Masonic meeting and learn more about the organization without any obligation to join.
Event Details:
Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026
Time: Casual Lunch begins at noon, Ceremony begins at 1:00 PM (approximately 1.5–2 hours)
Location: Towson Masonic Center, 507 West Chesapeake Avenue
There is no cost to attend, but RSVPs are requested by January 9 due to limited seating. To reserve your spot, please email [email protected].
We hope you’ll join us for this unique opportunity to experience a piece of living history right here in Towson.
Sincerely,
Joe Creamer
Towson Resident
