Still dreaming about our 2026 National Gathering ✨🌟 The connections made, the art shared, the community built — this one will live in our hearts forever. 💛
One participant encompassed how we felt perfectly, “daCi is special. The environment is supportive and nurturing. The art making, community building, [and] intergenerational work doesn’t happen in other organizations/settings. All humans could use a little (or a lot) of daCi in their lives."

Dance isn't just an art form, it's a teaching tool! 🌟💃 In our 2026 Spring Newsletter, educator Chara Huckins shares how she integrates movement into math, science, poetry, and more for elementary students in Salt Lake City. One student said it best: "When you put movement into it, I understood ALL of it." 🙌

THAT'S the power of dance.

The energy, the movement, the magic — we’ll never forget this year’s National Gathering! 🎉 Below is daCi USA’s outgoing board chair, Heather Francis's thoughts:
“There is nothing like a daCi Gathering.

Every element of the gathering is purposeful, inspired, and focused on the experience of the Child.

Participation in a National Gathering always leaves me feeling reassured of the importance of elevating young people’s experience with dance, amplifying their voices, honoring their development, and intentionally nourishing their creative agency.

This Gathering was no exception and bringing my son for the first time illuminated the benefits even more clearly for me. We are both beaming with pride and inspiration as a result of the week.

I am so grateful for the tireless efforts of our Gathering chair Karen Keubler. She is both an incredible project manager and consummate creative. She knew precisely how to design the experience to immerse participants in the theme, scheduling, campus, and activities. Her attention to detail and vision for ‘playing with possibilities’ on campus all week resulted in an incredibly cohesive and memorable week.

I am also grateful to all the participants, chaperones, performers and presenters who contributed. They have inspired me! The Gathering would not have been the same without their content expertise, positive energy, and ability to contribute and receive.”

Thank you to every dancer, educator, and dreamer who showed up and showed OUT. Until next time! 💃🕺

What an incredible few days it was in June! Dancers of all ages and backgrounds came together to build community, learn new techniques, create original choreography, and share the stage in performance. From technique classes by day to inspiring evening performances, this gathering reminded us why we dance together.

One participant put it beautifully:
"I love the sense of community, a chance to take a technique class, learn/create choreography, and perform. I enjoyed the evening performances as well. I love the generational element with multiple ages. I love the philosophy that all are welcomed to participate regardless of past dance experience. I really loved the cultural addition of the Indian dancers!"

That's what daCi is all about, welcoming every dancer, honoring every generation, and celebrating the rich diversity of dance traditions from around the world. 🌍💃🕺

Thank you to everyone who joined us, taught, choreographed, performed, and made this year's Gathering so special.

Rain or shine our Youth Leaders lead a sculpture tour on campus for one of our breakout sessions!

It was roaring fun! Thank you, Youth Leaders!

We are so proud of our youth leaders for their work this week leading this session, introducing pieces in our performances, and sharing the light of daCi with others!
