I Was studying the word today and the Holy Spirit dropped something in my heart in Ephesians chapter 4 from vs 11 to the end. As children of God we are to work together. God gave us different gifts, some pastors, some evangelists, some prophets, some apostles and others teachers. But why you may ask, so we can work together like a well-oiled machine. If one man had all the gifts, then that gives room for pride. Rather he wants us to depend on each other, rely on each other, to lift each other up and help ourselves grow and wax stronger in the faith. That way we can be strong enough in the fath and reach spiritual maturity so we don't get blown around by any wind of teaching or false prophet that happens to come into town.
Going further down the chapter, the bible talked about doing away with our old selves. My pastor always says that if you call yourself a born again Christian yet there is no difference in your life now and your life prior to surrendering to Christ, then you have not truly been born again. Or if there is no difference between your life and the life of an unbeliever then your Christianity is questionable. Brethren let us search our hearts and be sincere to ourselves about what aspects of our lives have gone contrary to the word of God. Let us repent of our sinful ways. Let us not harden our hearts to the voice of the lord. Finally let us sincerely and genuinely seek God's forgiveness and repent from our old ways. May God continue to empower us in our journey of faith, Amen. Have a blessed day people of God.
